Ford Confirms F-150 Lightning Final EPA-Estimated Range for All Models Ahead of Customer Deliveries in the Spring
Ford F-150 Lightning Official: Ford Confirms F-150 Lightning EPA Range for All Models f-150-lightnin

In Ford’s efforts to continuously improve over time, some F-150 Lightning customers will benefit from an increase in range ahead of launch this spring. The all-new, all-electric F-150 Lightning has completed final EPA testing. F-150 Lightning XLT and Lariat trims with the extended range battery take you an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles while the F-150 Lightning Platinum has an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. Fleet customers have the option to purchase the extended range battery on Lightning Pro and that has an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles.

F-150 Lightning (Targeted EPA-estimated Range) F-150 Lightning (Final EPA-estimated Range)
F-150 Lightning Pro SR: 230 milesF-150 Lightning Pro SR: 230 miles
F-150 Lightning Pro ER (Fleet only): 300 miles F-150 Lightning Pro ER (Fleet only): 320 miles
F-150 Lightning XLT SR: 230 milesF-150 Lightning XLT SR: 230 miles
F-150 Lightning XLT ER: 300 milesF-150 Lightning XLT ER: 320 miles
F-150 Lightning Lariat SR: 230 milesF-150 Lightning Lariat SR: 230 miles
F-150 Lightning Lariat ER: 300 milesF-150 Lightning Lariat ER: 320 miles
F-150 Lightning Platinum: 280 miles F-150 Lightning Platinum: 300 miles

We are laser focused on continually improving our energy consumption efficiency for Lightning and the team is really happy to deliver these results for our customers, said Linda Zhang, chief program engineer, F-150 Lightning.

Woot! I'll take the extra miles all day long. Platinum owners should also be extra happy.

So no bump for the SR? Hopefully there is at least a small increase in range for the SR and Ford just wants the ER appear a better value and left it at 230. Yes I have a SR on order and yes I'm deluding myself!
That's what I said in the other thread. It makes no sense that the ER is 320 and the SR is 230. It should be 240-250. When the real range testing starts I expect we'll see that borne out.

Awesome that the Lightning ER has more EPA range than R1T. Can't wait for some real life range testing!

I'm sure we can update that in Forscan.

;):ROFLMAO:
You could probably find a way to hack the GoM display to show 400 - you won't really get it thouhg.

Well - maybe if you added a speed limiter at 45mph and power/torque limiter at ~20% of rated value and then disabled the HVAC controls.......

Here's my hope. Based on real-life GT reviews the base and Performance versions have similar 0-60 times but Ford stresses 3.5 vs 3.7s in their marketing. Why? I assume because a lot of people focus on that metric Ford needs to create a differentiating metric to incentivize customers to pay $5k more for the GT PE. Maybe it's the same case here, if the SR got too close to the magic 300 number then a lot more people would have settled with SR versions. So I wouldn't be surprised if Ford is sandbagging the SRs to push people to higher margin ERs. Only real world testing will tell.

Here's my fear. Or Ford may have decided to play the same games Tesla plays and is using the more optimistic factor they are allowed to use in EPA ratings for the ER/Platinums.

Can't wait for the real world reviews. If the Lightning is anything like the Mach E, reviews will be embargoed until after the trucks starts selling.

SR battery is 98KwH
ER battery is 131KwH

SR battery is 25% smaller than ER battery. If ER gets you 320 miles and all else remains the same, SR should get you around 240 miles per my calculations.
It's in the first post... ;)

and the SR battery is ~400 lbs lighter so the truck should be even more efficient that a straight ratio would suggest.

Vehicles like the EV6 and ID3 have ranges that are proportional to battery pack size, so this is a little weird.

I think this indicates that the ER has a different traction inverter system or BMS (or at least different programming) that are more efficient than the one in the SR. We already know that the ER has dual on board drive motor battery chargers, so I wouldn't be surprised if the inverter and BMS was also different.

Now the question to answer is, why does the Platinum charge so much faster at 240VAC than some of the other trims with the same ER battery and onboard chargers.
