Howdy Y'all! (no we don't actually talk like that) haha

Like many of you, I reserved my Lightning the moment the show started, and I was fortunate enough be given the opportunity by FoMoCo to pay over $100K CAD for a truck! (what a time to be alive)

Mods were planned and ordered well in advance of the truck, so without further ado, here's my journey so far!

Unfortunately, they were rubbing, so I had to go back to the OEM wheels. It was worth it though, because these Fox coilovers completely transformed the way the car handled. Pretty much got rid of the "boaty" feeling. Highly recommended!!

Might sit about (half) an inch higher than stock?

I really didn't want to go with a low profile wider tire, as I was trying to minimize the rolling resistance. So I decided to go back to the front OEM suspension and add a lift.

ReadyLift 2" Leveling Kit (66-2120) installed

Vossen's wrapped in 285/65/20 BFG KO2
A big thanks to Brent and his team at Factory Tire in Etobicoke. They let me test fit the tires, and were ready to take them back if they didn't fit!

If anyone's wondering, this setup clears the crash bar without any issue, and only a slight rub at full lock on the rear liner. Boaty feeling is back, but a small price to pay to make these rims & tires fit!

Truck is currently with my detailer, Mike (All In Detailings in Mississauga), for full XPEL stealth PPF and tints. It should hopefully be ready by next week, but here are some teaser pics!

Man, this is awesome!
Looking at the shocks (something I've never done before) I'm seeing $550.
I can't find if it's for one or four? Any help?

You're going to love it! I feel like it's how the truck should have come from the manufacturer.

You'll need 2, as the cost is per shock and only compatible with the front.

Good luck on your modding journey!

Looks great. I am thinking a front strut/spring combo is going to be in my future. I actually would prefer a slightly lower truck, but stock height is okay with me.

I know you had limited time with the new suspension, but how was the handling other than "transformed?"

Looks great. Tying to decide want I'm going to do. On my 2015 King Ranch I installed these Bilsteins and like them. Bilstein 24248129 Shock Absorber https://a.co/d/cSai5ux I was able to get 1.5" -2" level out of them.

I had a very limited amount of seat time with them, but I had a few car enthusiast buddy's take the Lightning for a spin, and they l commented on how well the car handled - which is pretty remarkable because we all know how it really drives lol

It may seem a bit pricey/silly to invest in suspension on a brand new truck, but I really believe it's how it should have come. It just feels that much more compliant on the streets and highway. I took some pretty sharp turns and entered/exited a few lots aggressively with full confidence.

Now that I'm back to OEM, I feel like I'm driving a school bus 😅

How much has your range been impacted by the larger/heavier tires? Were you able to get a good measurement on your typical miles per kWh before the new tires?

I actually wasn't able to get a baseline at all. Had all these mods done while I was still on the original charge from the dealership.

I can update you guys down the road once I've been driving on them for month or so. I should have a rough idea of how many kms I get per charge by then.

Thanks!

From what I've read, the fox shocks seem to be your best bet (so far). If you're not in a rush though, I'm sure there will be some more options - just not sure when!

F150 lighting on order
I'm looking into getting the ppf on my lightning. How does this stuff hold up. I live in RI similar climate to Toronto assume lots of salt on the roads in winter. Does it stay fresh after winter? What did u pay if you don't mind. Are you putting all the badges back on or leaving off? Any performance difference in Matt vs clear?

I've only ever had it done on my other car about a year ago, and it's still pretty much perfect. I highly recommend it for cars at this price point, because it's more of an insurance on the paint.

During the winter I just wash it down with water, but will occasionally use a foam gun if the weather's warm enough. If not, you can go through a touchless car wash without worrying too much.

You can absolutely put all the badges back on, but I like a cleaner look, so as of now the plan is to leave it all off.
