  1. Lightning winter preparations

Wow, glad I never have to deal with cold, snow, ice, salt, pre-conditioning. Living in the hot desert southwest USA - we never see winter at all...
  2. Charging at Ford dealerships

My selling dealer has 3 L2 chargers for the public + 2 in the service dept, but most of the time they are being used by sales dept to top off EV/PHEV vehicles being picked up that day. Another dealer near my work has zero chargers - only 1 in service dept. That's how wildly different dealers...
  3. CA HOV Decals and CVRP Timeline

CVRP application approved - 6 weeks without income verification! How long does the check take to mail out ?
  4. What are the chances: Ford shoots national F-150 Lightning commercial in neighbor’s driveway

Hey, I am small business owner too, but I never had my Lightning in a commercial... But then I never tow anything...
  5. Wave 3 invites who don't order won't be cancelled; possible Pro / XLT ordering reopening

^^^^ @astricklin said is probably correct. The base EV WT will be $40-$50K but will have the smaller Ultium batteries (100-150kw) and give similar Pro range. The $100K RST & 1st Editions will have the 200kW battery and that's GM's cash cow (similar to Ford's Lariat and Platinums)...
  6. Wave 3 invites who don't order won't be cancelled; possible Pro / XLT ordering reopening

At the time of reservation, we could choose from: 1st Edition, RST, or WT. I chose WT. I'm sure you can change models when it's time to order. I am not holding my breath for a 2024 model year Silverado WT EV for $40K. Thinking by then, prices should be in the 50K+
  7. Wave 3 invites who don't order won't be cancelled; possible Pro / XLT ordering reopening

Actually, for $40K, it's not going to have the 400 mile range Ultium battery pack. Probably more like 250 mile range. I am sure you will be able to order the upgrades on the base EV WT with 400 mile range, but it will not be cheap...
  8. Wave 3 invites who don't order won't be cancelled; possible Pro / XLT ordering reopening

I have a GM EV WT reservation made at the first minute of launch, but when I heard that they won't release any $40K base EV WT till 2024 and prioritizing the RST / 1st editions for $100K + in 2023 - my heart sank...
  9. Wave 3 invites who don't order won't be cancelled; possible Pro / XLT ordering reopening

You should be happy you got an XLT. I didn't get that choice and had to get a Lariat SR with no options. If I had a chance at a Priority 1 order for 2023 XLT, I would have extended my reservation. Back then it was an unknown... Hindsight, 20/20...
  10. Gas card cancelled & now looking for EV charger credit card or tracking payment

Agree - Ford Pass VISA has their annual cash back for spending and the 3% back on "fuel" which I would assume would code as MCC when using EV ? BTW: FNBO/Ford just paid me $300 for use of the card (spent $6K) so that was a nice first year bonus. Looking at Costco Citibank - 4% is better if you...
  11. Regenerative braking seems reduced over the past week

Yes, agree - wish Ford had put in regen paddles! I come from 4 years driving a Honda PHEV and used the paddles religiously. Regen starts out very low and as you shift, it increases regen. That's the way my muscle memory works so the Lightning was totally opposite and the heavy regen is a...
  12. Gas card cancelled & now looking for EV charger credit card or tracking payment

Very cool to see a fleet management integrator for EV - never heard of them! I do have WEX and Fleetcor commercial accounts as I have their cards for fuel, oil, DEF, and maintenance. Haven't used much of them recently due to the price of fuel at major name brands (76, Exxon, Chevron, Shell)...
  13. Gas card cancelled & now looking for EV charger credit card or tracking payment

Thank you for that - confirmed by @F150ROD link that also said the same - 4x points for using the Citibank Costco VISA. I have both Costco Citibank VISA and the Ford Pass VISA - will have to see which is better - Ford VISA or Costco VISA in terms of rewards... Hoping in the near future, a...
  14. Gas card cancelled & now looking for EV charger credit card or tracking payment

Thanks! Very helpful sources of EV charge/credit cards.... I currently use my Ford Pass VISA on all my EV charger apps, but it's still difficult to separate out the other non "EV" charges...
  15. Gas card cancelled & now looking for EV charger credit card or tracking payment

Yes, I have business credit cards that I can put them all onto a single payment for all the EV apps, but separating them is a pain - EV charges, business charges, expenses, services, etc.... I wanted an EV specific card or app that can monitor all my EV charges similar to a gas card. Like an...
  16. Gas card cancelled & now looking for EV charger credit card or tracking payment

While cleaning out my Lightning's glove box, I found I had transferred from my old gasser - ARCO Fleet Gas card. Felt so good to cut it up and cancel the commercial account after years of gasoline purchases. Does anybody know of an EV credit card, business commercial card or other means of...
  17. Regenerative braking seems reduced over the past week

No option to upgrade - it had been stuck in 3.2 for almost 2 months. Finally, when I did get my next OTA update, it was 3.5.2. Skipped 3.4 which is what I really wanted because the harsh regen of 1PD is not to my liking in urban congested traffic. So from day 1, I have 1PD off. I use Sport...
  18. Regenerative braking seems reduced over the past week

OTA 3.4 had the 1PD regen change. I was really looking forward to the less aggressive 1PD but when mine went from 3.2 to 3.5.2 without getting the 3.4, my 1PD is still the same - very aggressive and non usable for my urban driving. Still using Sport mode to regen and love it. I really wanted...
  19. Complete the Purchase online email

I tried to do that but my dealer insisted they could not sell me the truck even though I had financing approved by my credit union. After speaking to my CU, they said the dealer has the right to pull your credit even with outside financing for identity purposes. Dealer pulled TU and EX. Drove...
  20. Lightning Real World Range -- What's Yours?

Yes, 100% city driving. No faster than 45 MPH. All bumper to bumper urban crawl or coasting/braking constantly. 25 mile round trip daily which means I won't have to charge for 10+ days. Single occupant - nothing to weigh down the truck. Hoping by October / November when I won't need any...
