Makes sense. From my layman perspective, I was hoping the standard would call for a wall connector that only back feeds when there is grid power, similar to most net metering solar setups.
I expect requiring approval of each installation will slow adoption, especially when California could...
Your videos are detailed and insightful, so it's an easy share.
Do you have any info on Vehicle to Grid (V2G) options coming in the future? I saw Emporia has a V2X charger that seems to be delayed to 2024 (https://www.emporiaenergy.com/how-the-emporia-v2x-charger-works).
Will we see many...
Yes, I had the same issue. It sounds like it is the modem that needs to be rebooted. I just fixed this by using a 10mm wrench to remove the negative battery terminal, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect.
Ford says we should expect an update in February to fix this.
I recently encountered an issue with my FordPass not updating correctly. In an attempt to resolve the issue, I attempted to remove and reactivate my vehicle. However, it appears that MY2023 vehicles cannot be activated until Ford releases an update in February. As a result, I am now exploring...
I compared prices with the finance guy at my dealer, and he suggested Granger was blending in other warranty plans into their table to make it seem like one offering. Thus, if you select a mileage/term that isn't offered through the Ford program, it is mapping you to another provider. It may be...
My wife was driving in a parking lot testing out the parking assistance feature and the service vehicle soon alert appeared.
Her version of events:
The service indicator went away on the instrument cluster/dash, but the vehicle alert still appears in my phone app (oddly, not the...
If this means I can plug in my truck and have it feed the grid (V2G), show me some hardware that doesn't cost $10k plus additional home electrical reconfiguration.
I'm imagining swapping out the vehicle wall connector with something that supports V2G like Emporia's charger that is supposedly...
Would it work to place a strong object between the top of the jack and the jackpoint? E.g., a block of wood?
Edit: jackpot -> jackpot; dang autocorrect!
I haven't seen an update, yet. My display says no updates are available.
Sad to hear about the issues. I wonder if it wouldn't be better to reduce the level of customization on these vehicles. Fewer surprises on delivery, less confusion on what options are supposed to appear, economies of scale...
I have the Lectron 48 amp Tesla-to-J1772 charger. I used it with the Tesla Mobile Connector and the Lightning before I installed the Ford Charge Station Pro.
It worked well for me.
California here, paid sales tax on the gross price before the private offer discount. Translates to an extra $660 in tax that wouldn't have been paid if it had just been a MY2022.
