I got those times from @Mike G who looked up my VIN on FDRS after the tech left. I think it would be cool if all you Mongeese folks (and the one China VCM clone) start posting your FDRS session logs with times.
Fyi the tech told me he did the APIM and FHCM but he didn’t. I’ve decided to get in...
In FORScan, when you are about to do anything to a module, just click the Save All button first (only available in the As Built screens for each module). It will automatically save the file with the name vin_module_date_time (to the second).
After the update (especially if using Easy mode), do...
You can load up to 4 files and it will show differences in red. Works with either FORScan .abt files (which you have to save one module at a time AFAIK), or the Motorcraft .ab files.
I routinely save my As-Built files from the Motorcraft site. I had my IPMA module updated by the dealer on 9/25. If I look at the differences between 8/30 and 9/30, I see 93 different lines in the IPMA module. Here are the first 10 differences: (Line 1's are after the update, line 2's are before...
Have electrician determine what wire you have and whether its NM-B (aka Romex) or individual wires in conduit (probably Romex). Then you know the max breaker size (see this chart). If Romex #6 you can't put in a 60A breaker, it's only good for 55A.
Then hard wire the FCSP. Set the dial based on...
Here is a FORScan mod I applied a few days ago that I really like. The Lightning is annoying in that if you turn the truck on without your seat belt buckled, it chimes 4 times. (My routine is to hop in my vehicle, turn it on, then buckle my seat belt while it warms up (ICE) or boots.)
This mod...
Some more info from a WSJ reporter who spoke to Farley:
Big EV news from Ford. The company is providing free EV chargers AND Level 2 EV charger installation to new buyers and leasers.
Here’s the value:
đź’° $1,310 for the Ford Charge Station Pro
đź’° $2,000 for home install, you have to use Qmerit...
I’m sure we’ll get nay-sayers on this but this will certainly help drive adoption. From the Farley letter:
”Nearly 90% of shoppers say they would be more likely to buy an electric vehicle if they knew they could charge at home. [...] Problem is nearly half of them don’t know how home charging...
I’ve never tested it. I thought I read it only worked for heat since that uses a lot of energy. But others reported it works for AC too. 🤷‍♂️
But these vehicles are getting more sophisticated with how they do air movement so maybe Ford has a reason to blow some air even when they show it’s off...
Correct. When driver focused is on, the passenger temp will be off if no one is sitting there. The picture above shows driver focus on. The HVAC only cares about the driver.
The only time I had this happen on my older ICE F-150, it was a blend door actuator that failed causing cold air to come out of driver side vents.
@Scorpio3d - there is a setting in the HVAC mode menu for Driver Focused. It will turn off the vents like you experienced. You can turn that setting...
I'm planning to be there. I attended a Maverick meetup there a couple of years ago. The manager likes car clubs but didn't know much about the Maverick. He thought all the trucks were Rangers.
Thanks, you're right. I thought it was the APIM reset that caused this new behavior. But I turned those settings off and I still get LKA.
So I guess the toggle is whether you want your cruise with Hand-free (BC) or not. But you always get LKA.
