I take it that you didn't read the write up and skipped to the graphs. I do state where RPT0 started, and what the top of the graph is. From that you should be able to calculate each of the hash marks.
Yes. I duplicated my normal drive cycle on the side. 30% delta with the upper limit at 85% SOC (displayed, 80% actual)) closely tracked closely with the 30% delta at 25C at 50% SOC as the center point.
Thermal Stability is the highest temperature a cell can sit at without an effect to the cell. Once you go above this temperature, the cell will start going through an a thermal reaction and will start increasing the temperature of the cell without other inputs. It will steadily increase in...
So what is the whole point of this thread? If you have a hypothesis that is properly sourced, post it. Otherwise, just delete the post unless you are just raging against the machine and trying to poke people.
TL;DR you are missing out on actual data that is already summarized as much as I can while presenting the facts about the cells in your truck. I'm not going to summarize it further for you :cautious:
So, I recently retired from the Institute (and received my final paycheck with my 8 weeks of...
It is still W = I x V, but once the current stops, the BMS will use the nominal current for the calculation instead of the current before the the charging stops.
Once charging stops, the cell starts a polarization and the voltage will relax. Once again, W = I * V but the BMS will use I normalized instead of actual.
Everyone ask what my plan is...I'm going to sit at my bar, drink beer, and watch sports on the 4 TVs I have mounted. 22 years in the military along with the nearly 20 years at the Institute make retirement at 62 years old possible!
I've read through everything and it's only about trade secrets! Two normalized graphs should not be a problem, but I'm going to wait until my last paycheck where the pay me for 1 week and my 320 hours of vacation just to be safe
Expect to see a thread titled 'It's All About the Delta'...
I will officially retire from the Institute this Friday (Nov15th). I will need to carefully review all the documents I have to sign, but it really seems to be based on trade secrets. I don't think normalized graphs would be covered, so you may get to see the graphs on the deltas in the next...
Torn. I love the truck and have so much fun driving it, but after testing the SKE805A cells in my lab, I question the quality of these cells. Fortunately, I know the weaknesses of the cells and how to still make them last forever (and have posted hints about this in the past).
With that said...
FYI, responses like this is why I no longer answer questions or post new information I uncover as we continue to test the SKOne E80.5 cell (used in all of our Lightnings).
It seems that those who can see some data from the CAN, with no knowledge of how the data is generated, know SO MUCH more...
Before you do anything, do you know which pins power the BMS , and what voltage is needed to power it? How about the CAN high and low pins? Typically, we use CANalyzer to perform this type of work when we are charging/discharging a full pack outside of the vehicle.
xS increased voltage xP increases capacity. A smaller module, as long as it has the same P configuration is not a problem, as it is increasing the voltage.
