  1. starting remotely vs. preparing the cabin temp remotely

Thanks everyone. I appreciate answers and sorry for somewhat hijacking the thread. I am still trying to understand how to manage things, mostly for battery longevity but a little for efficiency. . For instance, tonight truck is at 80%, not planning to drive it much tomorrow, but it’s...
  2. starting remotely vs. preparing the cabin temp remotely

Are the following statement correct? 1. If unplugged, there is no difference between a departure time and manually hitting climate in the app. Both activate cabin climate. 2. If plugged in, a departure time prepares the battery using shore power, which improves range, while hitting climate...
  3. Ford extends the Ford Power Promise into 2025

I paid $1500 for a relatively simple installation. I am fairly confident that I could have done it myself, but I chose to go through Qmerit and, therefore, knew I would be paying more. The process was very smooth and I hope done professionally.... .
  4. Ford extends the Ford Power Promise into 2025

When it was 2K I think it was worth it to take the cash, but now that it’s 1K it’s more cost effective to take the charger and installation. I don’t think you can get both for less than 1K unless you do the installation yourself. Of course take the cash if you already have a charger or hate...
  5. Ideal Charging Frequency to charge to 80%

To extend on this conversation: Does speed/rate/amps of charging at home (Level 2) impact battery longevity? My daily commute is about 25 miles roundtrip, plus I have a second car (convertible) that I drive some days. So, day to day, I use relatively little battery power and generally charge...
  6. Extended Warranty Timing and Pricing

Yea, I think we might be talking past each other. The granger site seems pretty clear. If you buy within the original warranty (3yr/36K), the warranty clock starts at vehicle delivery no matter when you purchase the extended warranty. This is what I was planning to do. I was only worried about...
  7. Extended Warranty Timing and Pricing

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like the price will increase slightly over time, but not meaningfully and not steadily. I was worried that it might increase monthly or based on mileage, but that doesn't seem to be how it works. Based on other comments about warranty length: I do not think the...
  8. Extended Warranty Timing and Pricing

Question: Does the cost of a new vehicle extended warranty (Granger) increase with mileage/usage, making it more cost-effective to buy early? Context: I am sure this topic has been covered previously, but my search hasn't found my answer. I just purchased a 2024 Flash, and will be purchasing an...
  9. Connected Built-in Navigation Renewal

Does anyone know if there are plans for preconditioning to work via Apple Car Play/Apple Maps, or ideally Google Maps via CarPlay? Currently it seems that you can't precondition before charging in the Apple ecosystem, so maybe connected nav is worth it in that case??
  10. Ford Launches New Electric Road Trip Hub Site

My reading of the webpage is that Apple Maps via CarPlay does not currently support battery preconditioning, but that Google Maps EV Routing via Android auto will trigger automatic preconditioning. Is this everyone's experience, and what about using Google Maps via CarPlay?
  11. 2024 Plant Quality Hold Off-site - 10/21 Build week

I heard that Ford announced a $5,000 bonus cash rebate for XLT and Platinum trims. I agree it might be worth looking at available models, although you will have to shop and play the game. I am currently talking with multiple dealers about 2024 Flash, and they are coming off the MSRP a good bit...
  12. Would a F150 Flash work for me, or should I wait?

Yes, just Service Vehicle Soon in the middle of the Dash. the new thing is that a dealer out of state just got back to me with a great price. So now I have to decide if it’s worth traveling!!
  13. Would a F150 Flash work for me, or should I wait?

Thought I would update. Test drove a lightning with exact options I want. Was a great drive. Dealer gave a reasonable price, and after some shopping around it’s held up as competitive . So I am considering purchasing, except one issue. While my wife was driving after I took the first...
  14. Ford Power Promise – Take the charger/install or the money/discount?

That is true, I would probably feel comfortable wiring up a new one if an existing one breaks. And I could use DCFC while I wait.
  15. Ford Power Promise – Take the charger/install or the money/discount?

Is there no value in being able to switch to another charger if there is a failure? With a plug, you can just plug in the Mobile Charger and get by until a new one comes in. Maybe they do not break or have issues very often once running.
  16. Ford Power Promise – Take the charger/install or the money/discount?

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I think it's a unanimous vote for taking the cash and buying a separate charger. I checked rebates, and unfortunately, I do not live in a census tract that gets the 30% tax credit. It was not so easy to figure this out, though. However, my utility company...
  17. Ford Power Promise – Take the charger/install or the money/discount?

I just did the online installation estimate, and Qmerit quoted $1100. I have a 200-amp panel (I think), but there are only two open slots (one at the bottom of each row). I would put the charger 15 feet from the panel on the same garage wall (exterior wall) because the Lightning won't fit in the...
  18. Ford Power Promise – Take the charger/install or the money/discount?

Sorry if this topic has been discussed, but I was unable to find it. Since Ford is offering a free charger (Ford Charge Station Pro-FCSP) plus installation or $2,000 cash, I am trying to decide which option to take. Here is my rationale, and I would appreciate input. Reasons to take the...
  19. Would a F150 Flash work for me, or should I wait?

Thanks to everyone for all of the feedback and information. I am reading and watching all of the reviews and comparisons that I can. I have also spent time on PlugShare and ABRP looking at various common travel destinations, and I now have a much better perspective regarding what my personal...
  20. 2024 Lightning Flash plus $3395 options = $49,880 with A/Z plan

Is there any reason wait to purchase 2024 models at this point? For instance, when will 2025 models start being delivered? Or should I just start looking now for the best deals available? I am no rush, but would consider pulling the trigger if I can get a 55K base Flash.
