Mine hasn’t been a noticeable problem as of late. I’m assuming ford had an OTA update. I feel some updates come through without notifying the driver
I went in to “just” get an IMPA update to fix the front sensor issue. Upon download, apparently the truck tripped out and nothing was working. Dealer techs reached out to ford and concluded I need a new gateway module.
Anyone get this done? How long? They weren’t very upfront on what to...
Since mine happened, sounds like this is super common and apparently a right of passage for owners. Every instance, the screen came back and never happened again
UPDATE: Dealer called and said I need a new gateway module. No ETA on when it can get to them.... Hopefully not one of these scenarios where I wait a month.
I feel I should have never brought this in as it wasn't a big deal, on the other hand if something were to go wrong it's getting fixed now.
Proceeded with dealer doing the IMPA update per FDRS. Then the tech says all the lights started going off and can’t get any of the modules to work and needs to contact Ford.
Got a loaner…and wow the Explorer is complete garbage. Feels like I’m driving in 2nd gear. Worst ICE vehicle I’ve ever...
And interesting enough, when I look online, the csp for module is gone as well.
Usually there’s a notification if there’s an update, but hard to tell if it was actually fixed OTA
