Ok, lifted the door and tightened the bolt. Closed the door, took a drive, all good. Now, that lower bracket has a little popping sound about halfway through the door motion. Haha did I lift it too much? Tempted to just use it and let the door settle naturally. Getting the door movement and wind...
@mgmessner89
Just adjusted the door and is nice and snug. I now notice just a slight sag in the door and need to get that nudged back up a hair. Can you describe how you were able to do this? Sounds like you also had the door move up or down as well as the side to side motion that actually...
@Firn
Can’t remember if you had this happen or who it was. Adjusted both bolts and have the door sealed up good. Somewhere in the adjustment of the two bolts, the door now sits a hair lower. So looking to keep the side to side angle as is but nudge the door back to the original height. I’m...
Rockin the new 116T XL direct replacement for OEMs. Not the E. Not the SL. Same PSI. Same TPMS. Ford dealer will install for you whether you get them from parts or another source. So far, can feel more grip but nothing too crazy. Same ride as OEMs, which was a big deal for me. Ate snow today...
I didn’t get those. That’s the E load for those looking to rock crawl. Stiffer sidewall etc. 116T XL is a direct replacement for the OEMs. Light off-roading. Same ride. Same PSI. You are swapping the high efficiency for all terrain tread. E tire reduces range 10-15%. 116T XL about 5%.
There’s a new tire offered by Toyo. It’s not the E or SL rated tire. This one is the same spec as the OEM tire that comes on the vehicle. Same tire pressure too. This tire is new and hard to find. If you see any out there and want to try them, scoop them up and have your dealer mount and...
Good luck at the dealership. I would directly ask them to adjust the doors according to the method discussed in this thread. This method is truly the fix. If they don’t complete the fix, I’d suggest getting a friend to help. It’s not too bad honestly.
Strike that striker idea. I just adjusted the door on the bottom. Moved it slightly outward and this moved the top of the door further inward. The adjustments using the two bolts now has the driver door closing just as snugly as the other doors. It’s 15 degrees out and just took a drive to test...
What’s up door fam. Got down to 18 here in IL today and my previously silent door is on the move again. Now, I’m sure it’s because of the temp. Should probably grateful the last fix worked…but I’m wondering if moving the striker a small amount would wrap this door situation up? Has anyone move...
Morning Lightning Fam,
Was glad to run across this thread and see this is a common issue. It’s not obviously, but feel better knowing it’s not just mine. Where can you order a new door seal?
I read another thread that discusses loosening the bracket bolt that attaches the door to the bracket...
Lectron is currently contracted to make the new Ford adapter. Just picked one up during their holiday sale. Readily available and arrived quickly. Purchased for less than the cost of Ford’s online offering. Tried it yesterday and truly plug and play at a Tesla supercharger. Really good stuff!
Morning!
Recently put these OEM flaps on and I’m wondering about the steel brackets that clip onto the aluminum body. As I tightened the screws, they twisted and made contact with the panel below. As time goes by, just wondering if these brackets are going to rust and damage the aluminum panel...

Thank you!
OK, it looks like this did it. Such a quick and easy fix to this significant door vibration. The door moved around a millimeter and that did it. Unreal how a small amount of movement made that much of a difference. I also see where another owner tried this today...

Yall may have just saved my day! I have this “loose” sounding drivers door. At the top of the door near the B pillar. Sounds like the door is not connecting tightly to the body of the truck. I hear the door vibrate on the rubber seal. This occurs while on the freeway and rough...
Any thoughts on the E, SL, XL, LT versions of the Toyo Open Country AT3 EVs? LT is a stronger tire, but I won’t be rock crawling or towing much. Just light off-roading on dirt trails. Camping with a bed tent, etc. Been getting real confused with all the versions of this tire. Is the XL 116T I’m...
