  1. FordPass Climate start not working

I began having the same problem a couple of weeks ago. Today, I updated FordPass to the new version and regained the remote connectivity. Causation? Correlation? I donā€™t know. But at least the remote start/climate control works again.[UPDATE: It was a fluke. Iā€™m right back to finding that...
  2. New Ford Charging Adaptor by TESLA Compared to Orginal

English is a flexible tool. To resolve the nomenclature debate, I propose calling the device that plugs into the car a ā€œbungā€ and the receptacle on the car a ā€œbungholeā€.
  3. New Ford Charging Adaptor by TESLA Compared to Orginal

I never expect to win an argument with a man who drove a tank.
  4. Sounds like a ZIPPER

Thereā€™s no such sound from my 2023. Perhaps the dealer should be strapped to the front fender like a deer carcass and asked to pinpoint the ā€œnormalā€ sound while you drive on a wide variety of road conditions over considerable distances.
  5. Installing F150LEDs Sentinel CREE Tailgate bar

Yep. Iā€™ve noticed that ā€œfeatureā€ of the site. Itā€™s like a school test where the correct answers are handed out after the test so you can see if you studied hard enough.
  6. Installing F150LEDs Sentinel CREE Tailgate bar

Thank you. Those are good resources. The search function on this site has let me down a few times. I need to remember to be a bit more diligent.
  7. Installing F150LEDs Sentinel CREE Tailgate bar

All - Iā€™ve bought a F150 Sentinel CREE LED Tailgate Bar from F150LEDs. The wiring instructions are straightforward ā€¦ but written for the ICE vehicle. Has anyone installed this product on a Lightning and, if so, did you run into any issues associated with any unique characteristics of the...
  8. An Update on Your Forum Experience from Ford Motor Company

Three tries and never anything more than ā€œContact your dealer.ā€.
  9. When Lightning Strikes, so does my Lightning (in LA high wind / wildfires)

Rick - Good luck. Itā€™s awful. I grew up in Pasadena near Eaton Canyon, hiked there and biked around the neighborhoods that appear to have been burned. Later, I fought wildland fire for the USFS. Those winds and all that dry vegetation (and highly flammable exotics and grasses) are just a...
  10. Hooks, racks, storage added to ARE cap?

Like all true saints, I am above the sin of envy. But like all true truck owners, I can be jealous.
  11. It’s a snow machine

    Good thoughts.
  12. It’s a snow machine

My English teacher mom would have been so ashamed at my grammar.
  13. Hooks, racks, storage added to ARE cap?

Heres a photo. The slide has a 1000 lb rating. It extends 75%. Iā€™d wanted to use the 1500 lb model, with 100% extension, but the manufacturer reported that there is something about the Lightning bed (and whatā€™s under it) that prevents use of the heavier model. I didnā€™t care enough to push the...
  14. Sunroof Exploded!

My Expedition windshield ā€œexplodedā€ when I turned defrosters on during a very cold morning. The glass guy said it was a common occurrence.
  15. It’s a snow machine

The Goodyear Wrangler. Iā€™ll probably go with Michelin Defenders when the original set wears out.
  16. It’s a snow machine

I am shocked ā€” shocked! ā€” that you took a taxpayer-owned M1A1 out into dangerous driving conditions without stopping to put on chains. Aside from that, I wholly concur that F=MA everywhere, and thereā€™s no negotiating the physics of friction with black ice. We are just Newtonā€™s apple when we...
  17. Sunroof Exploded!

Here is a dated article from Consumer Feports on the general topic. Note that the lede involved a driver also in Utah. Something odd happening in the Beehive State? https://www.consumerreports.org/car-safety/exploding-sunroofs-danger-overhead/
  18. It’s a snow machine

The last two days have given me the first opportunity to drive my ā€˜23 Lariat in serious snow. Iā€™m very impressed. The vehicle, with the OEM tires, handled hills, curves, backing, and piles left by plows without a hitch. I even made some deliberate moves to test spin recovery and abrupt...
  19. Hooks, racks, storage added to ARE cap?

All - Iā€™ve added an ARE cap (fiberglass) and bedslide to my ā€˜23 Lariat. They did a fine job of paint matching and the bedslide is something I wish Iā€™d had 5 trucks and a couple of huge SUVs ago. (Though it did mean getting rid of the two pivoting tool boxes that sat behind the wheel well.) Iā€™m...
  20. Driving in snow?

There are a lot ā€” a lot ā€” of folks who are about to use their Lightnings in the first real snow theyā€™ve experienced. The last three winters have been duds snow-wise for much of North America. Iā€™ve used all sorts of vehicles in snow, and survived so far. Every experience Iā€™ve had in my...
