Pricey at 499, but the "Schumacher Electric DSR ProSeries INC100 Fully Automatic Battery Charger and Flash Reprogramming Power Supply with Service Mode, 100 Amps, 12 Volts, Black" has been bullet proof reliable.
Got my vehicle back this afternoon. I have been staying up with updates via FDRS myself, but apparently I had the following applied by my local dealer - GWM, BCM and RFA. I can confirm that walk away lock works now. Its to early to tell if this fixed my carplay no audio issues. So far so...
Just got a call from my service advisor that they were not able to apply any updates today due to "internet issues". Sounds like a BS excuse to me and they likely just didn't work on the vehicle at all. They asked to keep it over night so they can start on it first thing in the morning. I let...
When I had the dealer do my sensors, I brought this up very transparently and the response I got was, we knew by learning the hard way, but have a good power source on the 12V system now.... Not a great response, but better than it could be 🤷‍♂️
I already had an appointment for something else tomorrow morning. I called my service advisor and asked if they could also do the TSB and I was told yes. I am in Northern Virginia.
This is super exiting in my book. I have struggled with the audio issues since I purchased the vehicle, needing to reboot the center screen probably once every 3-4 starts. I have an appointment at my local dealer to get this TSB taken care of tomorrow at 9am.
Ran RFA twice, both times its completed successfully, but it doesn't want to clear and stays in my software update list. Also BCM is there as we can't do that one anymore. Otherwise, I believe I am all caught up.
After running the IPMA Configuration tool, and the test, I tried re-running PCM even thought it said it completed successfully and it cleared the last error.
Totally would have paid the extra couple hundred for a lifetime if was offered at purchase time over the 2100 for 3 years... bummer they arn't asking current folks for a 1 time payment to opt into lifetime for only like 400 bucks. Seems like an easy money maker for ford...
Do we have a thread where folks can post to see if someone with a NASTF/VSP account/credentials are available in our area and willing to login folks in so they can complete their BCM updates? If I can't find someone in the Northern Virginia area/DC Metro area, I might consider signing myself...
Turns out to me a moot point as I woke up to a fordpass notification that it has been installed on my truck. Still may pick up a 2 day FDRS pass though to install any other updates pending in there for the truck :)
Is this something, I would be able to apply via FDRS? I am about due to grab another weekend worth of access and apply anything pending on the vehicle. I have been thinking that roughly quarterly would be a good rhythm for updates that way.
