Hey! Good news! You don’t need a bottomless pit of funds, just a deep one. And of course you need to be just a bit flexible on brand.
Meet the Expedition Motor Company
I have just read this entire thread. If I were the OP I have to say that I would also find the "assistance" as offered by @Hellian as unhelpful. Or less.
To the OP I am hopeful that you are able to find a quick resolution to this issue. I once experienced a DCFC charging failure at a site...
My wife drives an i4 that we bought 23 months ago. 15,000+ miles on thus far. She has never been to a DCFC*. Not. Once.
* I however, have taken that car over the road and thus the car itself has indeed visited a DCFC.
Did not know about the acquisition but that is exactly what I was suggesting. License/acquire rather than build in house. ABRP was just an example that came to mind quickly.
Why would ABRP license? To generate revenue. I bet Ford will peddle more vehicles with navigation included than Rivian...
Not enough 'o's in "Suck" brother. Bad enough to force owners to invest in a standalone navigation device like a Garmin Zumo. BTW, there is another company that seems to know a thing or two about navigation. The aerospace industry seems to trust them. The maritime industry seems to also...
If you want to feel better about the Ford effort then take a look at the proprietary navigation software architecture being pushed to consumers by BMW Motorrad. (That is the motorcycle division of BMW) A colossal Cluster F$64k. It makes Ford Nav seem magical. And in the last several years on...
I would argue that Ford engineers have no business whatsoever investing development in navigation software. They are an automotive company, not a software company. They should instead enter into a licensing agreement with ABRP or similar and concentrate on stuff they are actually good at...
I’d have a slightly different view. Which is that the “conservative” lawmakers have more of a pro big oil & gas perspective that can likely be traced by $$$. Maybe. And thus to the extent that EV can be a threat to the business of big oil they (lawmakers) will be unsympathetic or outright...
You mean to tell us that he lied? I'm shocked I tell you.
But, to wade into a REAL sensitive topic, I'm not a bourbon expert but I do know my way around the scotch aisle. That substance is usually better with a drop or two of water or, if need be, a cube of ice.
IM not so HO of course...
For me, I continue to be hugely annoyed every time I get back in an ICE powered conveyance and it fails to aggressively attenuate its velocity when I let off that throttle.
<sarcasm>Such antiquated tech</sarcasm> :)
This is all your opinion which you would be terminally challenged to prove. Its fine to have an opinion but please don't make the error of treating is as "fact".
MY opinion is that EV public charging is Public Infrastructure just like roads and bridges and at this point in time (bootstrapping)...
