It seems like I only get updates when I’m driving around in the city somewhere. Usually around home I don’t drive around more than I need to. I go somewhere and then I park. today I decided to listen to some Metallica before I got out to get groceries at Walmart, and what do you know, the next...
My '22 Lariat ER has had that 40's mph shudder since I got it. But I also had my topper camper (a GoFast Camper) switched from my ICE F150 to the Lightning when I got it, and dealer couldn't find anything wrong, blames that. So I just got used to it. But would like to hear if you figure it out!
It used to from the Ford Nav app, when I first got my '22. But I haven't seen the battery prep message in at least a year. Maybe it just doesn't matter if you've been driving for a while?
So.... not an up-date. But a fix-up. Ford engineers must be so jealous of Tesla engineers, not having to figure out how to keep dozens of chip-modules happy, just one unified architecture!
I'll be happy when my lef-side speakers don't randomly not go on. But resume the next time the truck...
Happens every time. Ford for a while had the trucks showing what they actually were getting. But people were upset that they weren't getting the advertised mileage showing at 100%, or whatever. What I see is that if I charge to more than 80%, I get an unrealistically high number, like 331...
Also, you can only use as many amps as you have availability on your power coming into the house. I have the Ford Charge Station Pro, and 300 amps coming into my house, on a 200 amp and a 100 amp feed. But neither line could take another 100 amps, without having to rewire the two circuit...
I can think of lots of reasons why it shouldn't work... but am looking forward to seeing someone do it on YouTube, LOL. I know one of the charging gurus did it with a Tesla once, just enough to get it to a charger. Of course, could have just towed it to the charger...
(My understanding of...
Sweet looking Lightning! Love the bright red and the black wheels. I'm curious - how do you like the 2" front only lift, and did you get bigger tires, too, like 34's or 35's? How is your mileage now? Those are the mods I am considering, myself, so I can drive high-clearance roads better...
It's unfortunate people dislike dealers so much. Our local Ford dealer rocks. I've bought 2 trucks (1 the Lightning) and a hybrid Escape from them. I like that they can do everything, not just EV, and that they work with us for whichever vehicle we get. And have a loaner if it's getting...
If you aren't getting updates, go to a dealer who says they can update your truck. Once they do, you should be able to get them. They can run diagnostic at same visit, too. If your dealer says they can't do that, then go to one who has a clue or isn't just trying to only do service where...
Not necessarily saved them money. In Wisconsin and Michigan, a lot of people only get a car was at the end of the winter, or during the winter, for the underbody was due to the "salt" used on roads is so corrosive.
I think the advantage of Ford's charging curve algorithm is that it holds the 170 kw rate longer than other EV's do. And if it helps the battery be healthy longer, I'm for it. But I can see someone who really is in a hurry sometime, as needing a faster charge, too.
I got the FCSP and the Sun Run stuff, hoping for the fast turn-around 80 Amp charge and home backup... and then found that to run it at 80 amps would involve rewiring my home loads, or upgrading my home power feed from 300 to 400 amps, which would cost about $4000 in addition to the Sun Run...
My 22 Lariat ER hasn't preconditioned in at least a year, even though I use the Ford Nav app to try to get it too. And then have to figure out how to not drive in the circles it tries to make me go in. Still love the truck, but will love it more with the Tesla adapter for better fast charging...
I love my Lightning. But, if we were a young couple with limited time and money for vacations and multiple vehicles, then no way would I have got the Lightning. Because on a road trip, it ain't the time you save plugging in at home or not getting twice a year maintenance. It's the time and...
I could do a dozen memberships and save a few cents....but the ease of use with the Ford Charge network is well worth paying a little more. I love just plugging in and charging and watching YouTube. Having to keep track of credit cards for each one and the quirks of their apps, is just not...
