  1. Safety Program: 25S18: HV Battery Electrode Misalignment Discussion

I dropped by my dealer a few weeks ago. My advisor looked it up and said no remedy was available yet.
  2. Crazy Surging

It's about 5,200 lbs dry so I was probably pulling 6,500 lbs. I can't say enough good things about those Anderson hitches. Super easy to use and adjust. I'll never use the snap up bars or chains again.
  3. Crazy Surging

I towed a NuCamp Avia travel trailer from Louisville to Kansas City with a properly adjusted Anderson WDH and it was super smooth even over the crappy Indiana interstates. I'm guessing your hitch needs proper adjustment or your trailer brakes have an issue.
  4. Whose truck worked great today?

Sorry your experience with Rivian was so terrible. Took delivery of our R1S Tri-Max in January and it's been trouble free for 3k miles. Our Lightning was having a battery module issue within 500 miles of buying it and on its first road trip had to come home on a flatbed 1,200 miles and we had...
  5. Whose truck worked great today?

We have the '25 R1S which is about 6" shorter than the truck. No 240v outlet and the 120v is really no different than what is in premium ICE vehicles (other than being able to leave it on even when the truck is off). The R1S rides very nice and has tons of room. All Rivians Gen 1 and Gen 2...
  6. Whose truck worked great today?

I don't get it. People have been bitching about rotary shifters neutering their cars/trucks for years. Now people are retrofitting them. To each their own.
  7. Highway Range

270 miles is asking to get stranded on the side of the road. OP with a 10mph headwind you should expect about 1.7 - 1.8 mi/kwh at 70 mph. That's 200 miles if you get 1.7 and want to arrive at the charger with 10% SOC left (131 x 90% x 1.7). And don't charge above 80% at a DCFC unless you have...
  8. Whose truck worked great today?

Our truck is working great today powering our house. It gets driven very little since we bought a Rivian for our road trips. Ford tells me I shouldn't charge it above 80% or it might burn our house down. Waiting on Ford to release the fix which I'm hoping will be an entire new battery pack...
  9. Tesla Supercharger Location Voting

Desperately waiting on the "coming soon" SC for Buffalo, Wyoming. Come on muskrat take your meds and get this thing going.
  10. Lectron's Tesla Supercharger Adapter subject to tariff war

My bad. Had no idea that muskrat was having them made in China. I guess I had assumed Texas.
  11. Lectron's Tesla Supercharger Adapter subject to tariff war

As much as I despise the current crop of clowns responsible for these Tariffs the easy answer is just to buy one from Rivian. $250 in the gear shop and it's made here UPDATE: Disregard. Looks like it's probably made in china. Get one while they are still in stock at $250
  12. Safety Program: 25S18: HV Battery Electrode Misalignment Discussion

Probably not their flagship product for much longer. And dealer's certainly don't treat it as a flagship product. I doubt there will be a '26 Lightning.
  13. Safety Program: 25S18: HV Battery Electrode Misalignment Discussion

Curious why you think this is a win? Everything released so far just points to defective modules being replaced, not the entire pack. After my truck is repaired it will have modules that are three to four years apart in age. This is a bad idea with solar batteries and surely a bad idea with...
  14. How often do you actually use the 9.6 kw pro power on board?

Only been doing this for about 17 months but between $1,200 - $1,500 per year depending on how hot the summer is. This time of year when I'm not running any AC it uses about 12% per day. Obviously my approach won't work if your Lightning is your daily driver or if you don't have time of use rates.
  15. Canopy Bed Security Cameras

Bed intrusion notifications work great. When it detects motion at the side of the truck (rear windows for example) all it does is activate the light lights on the camera but doesn't send a notification. This is by design and I've asked them to include the option for these to be notifications...
  16. Canopy Bed Security Cameras

Here it is. Works well for powering the Canopy cam and data for ABRP Premium.
  17. How often do you actually use the 9.6 kw pro power on board?

I'm using the automatic transfer switch below. So all we have to do is go out to the garage and turn PPOB on/off. I was getting a ground fault even though I believe my transfer switch lifts the neutral so I just disconnected the truck's ground from my transfer switch. I know the risks and am...
  18. How often do you actually use the 9.6 kw pro power on board?

Here is a copy and paste describing our setup. Been working great for about 18 months. "When I installed our transfer switch last September the plan was just to have it for backup. Then it morphed into powering our house from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm when our utility rates skyrocket (we are on the...
  19. Canopy Bed Security Cameras

Little clarification needed here. It's not in my line of sight at all in my '22 Lightning. The box take up about 10" of space under the rear driver's seat. I'm using an OBD2 splitter so I can use my OBD2 bluetooth adapter at the same time. It works well but it's no substitute for what Rivian...
