did you use the resistors and female connectors? I wired the resistors inline and still get errors but it works.....thinking of switching them so that they are exchangeable like in the origonal instructions.
also just to mention.....after getting the lightning I was planning on selling the model S but my wife drives it now every day and we have our gas guzzling SUV mostly sitting for road trips or if we need to carpool (escalade ESV)
its a great setup and I typically trade trucks frequently but...
I own a 2019 model s and lightning. Had the model S first for a couple years (bought it used) and then bought the lightning (SR Lariat) about a year and a half ago
I also came from an ICE F150 (2019 raptor)
The lightning is much more traditional of a vehicle and bigger obviously...it is...
I would still run them up there, will help with range too....in terms of TPMS, no need to recalibrate them, it is the truck computer that determines acceptable range and that can be changed with forscan
that is correct, I have 275/65/20 Nitto tires...for that size you need to set the speedo in for scan to 2631. (stock will be 2547 if you have 275/60/20)
you do this in forscan and it will correct speedo, miles, and range estimates
awesome, great that they offer them in that size, I have the Nitto recons P275/65/20 and they are really good but when they wear down I might go with these given that they are EV specific (maybe quieter and more efficent) and still light...42lbs
I just re-read the how too....at least the resistor part looks easy enough, I put resistors on the wires coming from the female adaptor side I think.
still odd that I have an extra 2 grey wires
I could order a 15 wire cable.....but more importantly, how do I determine which blue, orange, green and pink wire are the canbus given that there are 2 of each?
ok, so before ordering I removed the harness and everything from my truck.
Good news: looks like the power plug (4 wire) is long enough to reach so no need to extend that
bad news: when I look at the connector the new style appears to have 14 wires that I have to extend instead of 12.... 2...
Thanks,
thinking of 2 options for the 12 wire:
unshielded: https://a.co/d/hMMezDH
shielded: https://a.co/d/7N7R3GH
the unshielded I like because it seems like a higher quality wire and black loom....also ships faster but shielded not much more expensive.
I removed it because I figured it out
I removed because I figured it out watching one of your how to videos also switched around slightly
