I would, personally, have no reservations from a FACTORY buy-back and reissue of a vehicle title, since they MUST bring the vehicle to safety and factory standards, otherwise... resale later may be affected by the history, if someone is so inclined not to understand, but, otherwise, it's just a...
my rear driver axle was leaking at over 42,000 miles, but Ford dealer replaced it, and it was at no cost: it is part of the 8 year/100,000 mile POWER TRAIN warranty...
also, it is common, if not typical, for the rear axle 'heads' to quickly 'rust' and look like there is a problem, but it is...
all LIGHTNINGS are built exactly the same, regardless of 'options' you choose, such as "Max Tow", which is ONLY an additional CHILLER unit and lines that wrap the battery pack. Max Tow is ONLY about keeping the battery pack cool, nothing else - the truck, ALL the trucks, already have 10,000lb...
I'll echo what I've noticed, over time, about many EV owners who seem to use DC Fast Charging locations as their 'gas' stations, with no apparent 'at-home' charging options:
I think there are a lot more of these situations than we might initially expect.
Outside of large metro areas, it seems...
been towing my 'new' 6x12 enclosed cargo trailer for several weeks over 5 to 6 113 mile trips, each going exceptionally well for this single-axle ~1,500lb dry weight trailer, with ~2,500lb-~3,000lb loaded weight... for a home move...
smooth, easy, and the truck hardly knows it's there... and...
One aggravating issue with the state-imposed 'EV Road Fee' is that we don't get to pay this in dribs and drabs, over the year, as gas and diesel vehicles do : we must pay it ALL AT ONCE each year, AND, at the same time we pay our tag fees.
There is no 'monthly pay' plan. There is no 'pay it...
in the course of a current move, we've towed our 6x12 single-axle enclosed cargo trailer, fully loaded, maybe 5-6k lbs, over 115 miles with no issues, netting about 1.5-1.6 mil/kwh in good weather, little wind, and little terrain... SR PRO... generally 30% left when arriving...
when we think of a dream way of 'extending' range, secondarily from the primary battery source of the vehicle, you are asking for either:
a) another battery, which would be heavy, and take up storage space
b) a generator, which uses fuel, such as gas or diesel, is heavy, and takes up storage...
Ford's engineers designed the truck's software to calculate a 'start' time based solely on the SOC you choose, rather than the TIME you choose... meaning that no matter what 'time' you have set it to start, the truck will OVERRIDE this if it thinks it needs more time to reach your SOC
what this...
don't confuse 'at=home' 'slow' charging with 'travel' 'fast' charging, as they are two totally separate and independent methods of recharging the battery pack...
at-home charging is typically your home's 240v power, fed thru the trucks' internal CONVERTER, that takes a/c power and transforms it...
Plug-N-Charge is not a necessary protocol, if you don't need it to be, as many have seen with 'membership pricing discounts'... you can always activate the EA Unit as you pull in, before you even come to a stop, like I do... Plug-N-Charge never comes into play.
Crullbri, you have, unfortunately, drank the cool aid...
no, Farley is not to blame, here, as he is the hero.
we don't know what 'ring' you refer to...
Tesla and Ford 'partnering'? what is this that you refer to?
Ford EVs are open to use Tesla Superchargers that are ALLOWED by Tesla to work...
I'm not referring to 'Neighborhood Markets' under the Walmart banner, but one of a very small and unique try back in the mid-2000's for small rural towns that had little to no other 'grocery' store or chains, like ours. These were referred to as 'Mini-Walmarts', or, specifically, "EXPRESS...
I searched for the same '120v'-powered sub, but, alas, that's not a thing... so, the underseat subwoofer powered by the rear 12v outlet works perfectly - never a problem.
I'm wondering if WMT is making a secret investment into a new 'EV' manufacturer, also, and getting ready to support their customers - like Bezos and Slate, or Musk and Tesla, or Amazon and Rivian, etc...
unlike gas stations, and chains, like BP and Shell and even 'Bucc-ees' now, there are not...
Walmart locations are certainly not 'permanent', at least forever, as our town's version was more in the 'center' of things, for it's 20 year lease, then moved to a new 'out of town' location that now draws all the flies and other stores and businesses...
Walmart's have certainly moved for many...
this will be a win-win as an appealing 'order your own vehicle the way you want it' structure, giving the public the ability to add whatever options or layout they would like, including color(wrap), wheels, etc., and the ability to do away with 'technology' for the audio since, well, we all know...
