  1. Inside EV‘s China auto show-we are toast!

Competition makes companies better, not tariffs and barriers that encourage complacency.
  2. Inside EV‘s China auto show-we are toast!

Nope. The Japanese cars were higher quality (read some history about US companies studying Japanese production techniques) and forced the US auto industry to self evaluate and make corrections. Japan, Inc actually made American industry buck up and get better. I speak from living it. If you...
  3. Inside EV‘s China auto show-we are toast!

I’m old enough to remember the same complaints and explanations of Japanese cars and trucks in the 70’s. Lather, rinse, repeat. I worked for an American energy/chemical company which had the philosophy that specialty chemicals were specialties for their first year. After that, they are...
  4. Using app to turn on/off Ford Level 2 Pro charging station

Dial the amperage down to 6 in FCSP box or Ford Pass. 1.44 kW should discourage any serious electron thief.
  5. Neil Young's new pro-EV song

It ain’t Woody Guthrie. It definitely ain’t CSN&Y.
  6. Lightning Powers Home During Storm - 25 kWh/day

I got a text at 5am today, a day ahead of schedule. Will probably avoid low SOC for the rest of storm season. Just in case.
  7. Lightning Powers Home During Storm - 25 kWh/day

That’s 30 amps at 240 volts, 7200 watts. That’s a lot of power for household purposes. Plus another 2400 watts in the frunk.
  8. Lightning Powers Home During Storm - 25 kWh/day

I’m planning the same thing. My 4T A/C pulls 23ƅ with 109ƅ inrush. If I take fridge and freezer in garage to frunk outlets and kill that inrush, I should be able to cool house during summer outage. If not, fridge (beer and food) and freezer go off line for short periods. The modification and...
  9. Lightning Powers Home During Storm - 25 kWh/day

We had some severe storms roll through western PA Tuesday night leaving a quarter million without electricity. I didn’t anticipate losing electricity and the SOC was under 70%. We plugged in Tuesday night and ran easily through Friday night. 2 refrigerators, a freezer, lights and furnace were...
  10. WARNING about backup start passcode

Aluminum foil, Saran Wrap, small metal box from mints or candy. Great space behind back seat that takes a 12mm box wrench to access. Insurance against Paak failure. Like my life insurance, I’ve never needed it.
  11. šŸš—āš” Charge Smarter. Drive Farther.

Thanks for being a sponsor. I think most Lightning owners would be interested in high power delivery than what 32ƅ can produce. FCSP has terrible software but delivers 19kw to our trucks. I use mine as a dumb EVSE.
  12. Has anyone figured this out?

How does all wheel drive work? What locks the rear wheels together? Are there locking hubs on each wheel?
  13. Whose truck worked great today?

My very old aunt had a new 65 Dodge Dart with push button gear selections. Her grandson and I were the same age. We would ā€borrowā€ her car at night after she fell asleep. We were fourteen at the time. One of us would ā€driveā€ and the other would punch the drive button. The driver would floor the...
  14. New BlueCruise Version 1.4 - Rollout March 2025

I’d make a political statement but then get my hand slapped.😳 Hope it’s soon because it does make Hands Free usable and enjoyable.
  15. New BlueCruise Version 1.4 - Rollout March 2025

Got a chance to try new BC 1.4 today. It worked extremely well relative to whatever old version I had. Lane change was smooth. Lane keep was stable. Glad it finally showed up and I get another year for free.
