I bought this, but have not used it yet, it sounds impressive. The company has one product and the back story is interesting. The cowling across the hood right in front of the windshield is what I want to use it on. That part turns grey. I need to get this back on my project list for...
I was very excited to see them pick up the pieces and get updated products for sale. The newest switches are some of the best. For my hub I've always used Universal Devices. I've got an Eisy now, this is my third product from them as they've evolved and upgraded.
You may be the winner for deals. Other have looked and looked for older model trucks sitting on lots, interesting how this one had been missed, maybe because it is an SR, but many of those have sold. Congrats and welcome to the club. At least you know up front what you are into with the SW.
Welcome to the dark side. So this was a new truck that had been sitting for 1.5 to 2 years? It hadn't been activated as a loaner or demo? You may have personal reasons, but if you don't mind go ahead and tell us how much they lost on that truck for sitting that long. It just makes more of...
All of the modules boot up from scratch. Clears errors or any that might be hung up. It happens and disconnecting the 12v battery can fix a ton of errors with these trucks. You'll see more and more as you read through different threads.
If you ask for the BCM update they will likely just say no as there is no CSP for it. Ford won't pay dealers just to do simply requested SW updates. I believe you'll be better off saying your wireless AA or CarPlay doesn't work and ask them to apply the SW updates for the modules for that...
This is what bothers me about what Ford isn't disclosing. They have to know by now with all the failures what our overall life expectancy will be and how often failures will continue to happen. Will we be able to keep these trucks for 10 to 15 years? After warranty you can't afford to...
What did you report that doesn't work? This seems to be new for the Lightning. It removes WAL options for those that don't have it.
What will be interesting is does it add the sliders for those that recently got WAL from the BCM and didn't get sliders to turn options on and off.
Hmmmm. Do you know something we don't? This truck is dead. It won't be refreshed, and the plans for the T3 are so prevalent we've almost forgotten what they were calling it.
Sadly the simplest and most reliable is just to plug in each time, but yes, I know, we shouldn't have to. We know that Ford can't do SW though, so I just try to accept this one and plug in.
If you enabled and turned on Silent mode you killed that animation. You should have a toggle on screen now. Turn silent mode off and see what you get
There are the changes for Silent mode:
Enable Silent Mode (AKA campground / dark mode)
Creates a SYNC toggle to turn on/off Silent Mode...
I didn't re-read all of this thread but see if this is similar to our problem. If not, you might consider a new thread so we don't have this diagnosis in the middle of the Forscan thread.
No - they actually update the mothership and your As Built data at Ford should match the truck after a bit of time - a week or so. Sounds like you've got a much bigger problem with the electrical system and nothing you've done with Forscan would affect that. At most you're activated...
Sadly you need to be calling your dealer. Nothing with Forscan, but there have reported similar behavior.
While you are in Forscan, did you check for DTC's?
This is always a dilemma. So many dealers really don't understand, but most will think you are trying to "mansplain" it to them if you act like like you might know something or try to point them in the right direction. It truly seems the Service Advisors don't know how to interpret it...
