I spoke with Don at SGS yesterday, and I am really really impressed so far. The fact that they focus on F-Series and have a number of turn key solutions is really cool. I ordered the custom A-Pillars.
If anyone here has used them for Audio and would be willing to share their experiences...
Funny that this thread appeared. The sunroof glass of my lightning is the first car I ever had where the sun is pinpoint brutal. Just yesterday I scheduled myself to have a UV tint put on the sunroof, and the front side windows (although I donāt need a darker tint - I just want less intense...
I have had it up to my eyeballs with local āhigh-endā audio installers and their excuses, complaints, and overcharging.
I have an aftermarket Audio system that should be great but isnāt due to the shop install. The core physical install is solid however.
I want to enhance the system by...
I actually think their results are accurate. They match mine, even if I wish they didnāt. I just object to the characterization that the f150 is an outlier with a range 15% lower than EPA estimates.
The EPA is a mixed driving estimate. However, can can use the gov website to adjust the mix (in this case 100% highway). Again, the point is if you are going to change the test criteria (driving type), you need to use the correct rating to compare against.
A number of comments about testing real world range. Yes. I agree with you. No issue on that. We should focus on real world estimates as itās all that matters in the end.
The issue is that the article conclusion is presented as a pass/fail relative to EPA estimates and they used the wrong...
Agreed. Honestly, I am not sure that I ever achieved 320 range. I suspect that 270 is about right for highway driving, and matches what I get. Itās just not 50 miles below what you would expect based on EPA.
My main point is that they used the wrong EPA number, and even if the big boxy F150...
Maybe a collective amount of feedback may help them to fix their testing methodology related to electric vehicles. This is not an attempt to claim that the F150 meets its EPA target. However, their methodology is inherently flawed, which makes the F150 look pretty bad. The article is here...
How much space is between the cabin floor and anything underneath it? Like the battery. If I have new subwoofers installed, how do Instruct the installers about safe installation?
My bet is they are going to leverage a 3rd party platform - like Rivianās, for future EVs. Why wouldnāt they. They donāt play in the same market as Rivian Cars.
I like both. If it were my only car and I mostly commuted with it, I might have picked the Rivian. However, I wanted the truck to do active, outdoors, and truck stuff. Bikes and kayaks and such. I didnāt want to feel guilty about it getting dirty and the Rivian is just so darn luxurious...
Itās weird as I thought there is no CarPlay support in GM EVs. But I am traveling and they gave me the Silverado EV to rent. I was prepared to do without. But plugged in for power and CarPlay popped up. Beyond thatā¦ā¦itās a powerful car with a a less bouncy ride. Thatās where the positives...
I started from scratch on bothe my Mach-E and lightning BO systems. Speakers are easy to swap. The most important thing to start with is a DSP/Amp. The ability to properly tune it with a microphone and have presets will maximize you stereo (even if you keep the speakers). Other than that...
I think the bottom line for EVERYONE is, if you are only going to keep an expensive/luxury car (gas or electric) for 3-5 years, either lease it or accept you are making a known-outcome financial decision for other reasons and donāt blame the car for that decision.
I keep my ā24 Lariat pretty up to date and there havenāt been many available FDRS updates in recent months. I did a bunch today and I have completed them all, except for IPMA (because I need to wait until I have time this afternoon).
anyone know what this new IPMA update brings, or how long it...
I had this issue. The dealer did not believe me initially (but then again, I knew more about the ā24 heating system than they did). I insisted the keep searching. Eventually they replaced the blower motor and all is well now. I have a thread about the experience on this forum.
I will say...
I asked because when I bought my Marie a year and a half ago, the only way to get the 10 K off of the car was to get the AutoNation extended warranty. However, those people are gone from the dealer, and if I am able to get a refund for the AutoNation warranty and get the Ford warranty. That...
