There is something wonky with the EV charger 30% rebate on Turbotax at the moment. And, as noted above, Turbotax won't allow submissions if you claim an EV credit until forms are updated later this month. I'm hoping those updates resolve the EVSE rebate as well.
Yeah, I would go with the Ford buyback vehicles if you can. The heatpump in the 24s will buy a marginal improvement in winter range, but your commute is well within the range of the non-heatpump model 23's, and as was pointed out above, the '23 ER has dual on-board chargers so it can suck up...
It's worth noting that the Federal Tax rebates for used EVs also come into play here. While a second owner that buys a qualifying vehicle can get a chunk of change back from the feds, you should know that said "qualifying vehicle" must be at least two model years old. Buyers probably know this...
Here is the phone tree for the company that shipped my truck (CSX):
CSX
1. Call 1-877-744-7279
2. At the first prompt, press "2" on your phone, followed by "1" at the next prompt followed, by "3".
3. When prompted for the car initials, convert the letters to numbers (each letter is a two digit...
When the car ships, your dealer will be able to access the rail car identifier and the rail carrier. They can access that information through their "VinView" or "Vehicle Visibility" interfaces. It might look like this:
The critical information is underlined in red.
Armed with this info, you...
Ask your dealer to print out a VINview or vehicle visibility report. Also, at this point I would skip over your sales associate and talk directly with the sales manager.
Ford seems to push the OTA updates in batches of VINs. The first updates, historically speaking, for the 2023 vehicles have been several months after the vehicle was sold.
Geez... Looks like I made it just under the wire. I closed my purchase on Nov. 30th... If I were still in the midst of the transaction, or if delivery had been delayed a week I would be livid. I hope FMC has an end-of-year holiday cash back offer coming out. They must.
I would go and talk to your dealership about the post-delivery inspection and detailing processes over the holiday season. Your truck might get to the dealership in time, but it will be close for sure. You need to know what their holiday hours are, and if full receiving and prep services to get...
Also, it looks like you got a spray-in bed liner or tonneau? "181/242" suggests that you are in a secondary queue. But if you have a tear tag, then the truck is built, and it will take a few extra days to get that finish work done.
Go here: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt/
Enter your VIN. Look for a long list of alphanumeric strings, and look for a similar string beside the words "Tear Tag" near the top. Report back.
Once it gets to the terminal rail detonation, there is little to track. What I did was follow other trucks to dealerships in my region, and mark the time from their arrival at a terminal ship yard and their arrival in local lots. Based on that I was able to calculate a 10 day period, and tell my...
Every time the truck is moved during shipping there is an update based on its new position. Put on a rail car? Updated. taken off of a railcar? Updated! Loaded on a transport? Yep... updated!
