  1. Has anyone downsized their winter tires?

I have 18 inch tires and no problems to report here. Only thing, when they originally installed the tires, they didn't take into consideration the huge calipers that we have up front and the weights were glued in a spot where my brakes ripped them clean off. Took it back and they made sure to...
  2. General Grabber tires

I'm aware of that... still doesn't exactly answer my questions...lol
  3. General Grabber tires

Hey guys, Turns out there's a puncture in one of my general grabbers and the shop is asking that I change all 4 at this point... When came the time to look at new tires, they advised me that these tires are simply Gerneral Grabber HTS60 tires...indicating that they aren't necessarily made...
  4. Winter Tires and Rims

There is no way a 17 inch will fit on those gigantic front calipers
  5. Snow Tire Help

Those should be fine...I have the 18 inch Blizzaks and they only have a rating of 114r. So long as I'm not hauling a ridiculous amount of stuff, they will work out. That being said, an unexpected downside of the smaller rims is they cannot put the weights inside the rim since it will come into...
  6. Winter Tires and Rims

I went ahead and bought them anyways...will let you know in a couple of weeks if there are any issues (I doubt it)...
  7. Check your tire pressure after your first service

Understood...but winter tires would fall under which of these categories...? Lol
  8. Check your tire pressure after your first service

Wait, so my 18 inch winter tires should be at 36 and not 42? Is there anywhere in the manual that says this?
  9. What Are The Best Winter Tires for an F 150? Blizzaks?

Maybe, but from my experience, they don't always check the specifics of a tire after they have already been purchased. It's a seasonal on/off scenario for them...as long as they fit and they look to be the right size, they don't always take the time to check the weight rating before installing...
  10. What Are The Best Winter Tires for an F 150? Blizzaks?

Ok, so I doubt that 600lbs are going to be THE difference. If Costco won't install them I'd simply purchase the tire and wheel without installation. Then either install them myself or go to another tire shop to get it installed...
  11. What Are The Best Winter Tires for an F 150? Blizzaks?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a 114 can still support over 10 000lbs. Seeing as the truck is around 7000lbs, you would need to put over 3000lbs of cargo for it to be a risk no?
  12. What Are The Best Winter Tires for an F 150? Blizzaks?

I've been flip flopping between the two...yes the X-Ice do have a higher rating, their max psi is also set at 44 and I don't know how comfortable I am with the truck demanding 42 in day to day driving. As for the blizzaks, yes they do have a lighter rating, they have a max psi of 50...as I...
  13. Winter tires

Good to know. Thanks for the insight guys!
  14. Winter tires

Ok thanks man! I'll definitely look into a few different tires and see which ones come on sale. By the looks of it tho, keeping it to 114-116 would be the best way to keep as much range as possible, while going the 120-125 route would allow me to fully use the maximum towing capacity but would...
  15. Winter tires

Ok, so the blizzard tires that you mentioned : https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/tires/pdp/bridgestone-blizzak-dm-v2-winter-tire-for-passenger-cuv-3083276p.3082583.html They indicate CUV and passenger, but they do mention for light trucks in the description...so as long as I'm not doing any heavy...
  16. Winter tires

Fair enough...lol Any idea what that would be exactly? I know some people use 116 for light trucks, while others have used 120 all the way up to 125...
  17. Winter tires

Hey guys, Ordered an XLT with ER and have a scheduled build date of 5/2 and I'm starting to look at purchasing winter tires here in Canada since they usually have clearance sales around this time. Spoke to my dealer and he recommended purchasing a tire with an 18inch rim for Winters... Seeing...
