I own two Lightnings and plan to drive them "until the wheels fall off". The first one I bought was to replace a 2004 Expedition (it was rusting out). Given the aluminum body I expect this one to out last me.
The assembly plant is a totally different division of the company from the engineering groups that do software and design. Pausing production at a plant has no short term effects on the engineering groups.

It is normal for the underside of the hood to not match. The paint is a three coat process. First a grey electrocoat then a primer and finally the top coat. The top coat is typically not sprayed onto all interior surfaces such as under the hood.
