Discussions are that the SSV variant of the Lightning will charge the battery once it gets below a certain level, the belief is the non-SSV trucks will do the same yet more than a few have had dead batteries...
I believe that the LVB is charged anytime the HVB contactors are engaged. Said another way, anytime the HV system is engaged i belive the DC-DC converter is active and the 12v should charge.
This would be when the truck is running, charging, preconditioning, and I expect when Pro Power is engaged.
From what i have seen a bed cover can help efficiency, in the right conditions.
From my limited reading the tailgate top gives the air off the cab some place to "land" which slightly helps efficiency. I expect that this only works at the EPA testing speed (and maybe only on some cab/bed...
I ditched my 21 Tacoma OR for the lightning. $10k more quite literally got what feels like twice as much truck. I miss the stick shift but darn, the Taco is waaay overrated.
The point is there should be no "whim" of the government. If there is, its not functional.
Subsidies are not to increase profits for existing markets, if used for that they are just blatant corruption.
A business SHOULD stake their business on it, that's what subsidies exist FOR. Yes, they...
This just makes more sense in my opinion. The dial itself has no physical orientation, so why involve other mechanical systems just to make it move?
I dont like the dial shifters, but reducing complexity is the name of the game here so some motorized dial just seems like its trading one failure...
These are the words I have been waiting to hear echoed around the community's. I'm sure they have been said for some time, but this is really the first time I have heard someone solidly claim charging is not really an issue any longer. We knew it was coming, there just had to be enough...
Again, the heater button being on does not indicate that it is currently making heat.
Folks overthink this. Set the temp you want, it will do that. Too warm? Make it colder. Whatever light, icon, widget, or glowing thing doesnt make a difference, the temp does.
It was on heat, in that it was pushing warm air, or that the Heater indicator was lit?
The heater button on screen being lit does not indicate it is heating, just that it can. I expect disabling that and turning full hot (or just higher than outside temp) is the equivalent to straight outside...

Here is the thread on hacking the exterior pedestrian warning sounds.
Which is different than the interior, Platinum only, Propulsion Sound
Well it's required for a reason. Yes, some probably didn't make noise, which was the problem and why it was mandated.
If brand new teslas are not making noise they are flagrantly violating the law. That isn't justification.
Personally, I dont care what you do. However others should know that...
Pop the case apart and look inside, it may in fact just be something like a Rsapberry Pi and integrated camera. If that is the case there are about a million other things to do. The subreddit ask electronics may be able to identify the board for you to let you know how easy it is to reprogram...
They use THE epa estimate, and compared it against a real world test.
The only "fix" here would be the EPA doing a realistic highway test instead of what they currently do
