  1. What is this?

Without having a real clue, I’d say it’s some sort of bumper plug. Depending on size it could be from one of the doors, where the bed rests on the frame, or another place under the truck.
  2. NEMA 14-50 Outdoor Box

Our area has had little/no theft over the past many years - chairs taken off of docks. And I can put the Juicebox inside If were not going to be around for extended periods.
  3. NEMA 14-50 Outdoor Box

I installed a 14-50 outlet on the outside wall of our camp. Then I attached a board to a shortened stop sign pole next to It. I mounted a Juicebox 40 amp charger (locked to the bracket) to the board and plugged it into the 14-50 outlet - which is also locked. I made a cover out of Sunbrella...

  6. Lightning Charged to 345 miles and 100%.

I appreciate the amount and level of analysis that many on this site conduct. It’s one reason I visit often - to check things out. If I’m traveling a longer distance I do some planning for charging - I do the same with our ICE vehicle. But overall I just take the Lightning as it is and use it...
  7. Lightning Charged to 345 miles and 100%.

A few days ago it was 68 degrees here - I charged to 100% and 342 miles, then did a 120 mile road trip with speeds varying between 45 and 70. The truck was moderately loaded (500 lbs). When I arrived at my destination the GOM showed 228 mi. at 72% SOC.
  8. Single-occupant EVs will no longer be allowed in Arizona HOV lanes starting in October

VA requires any vehicle (except motorcycles) in HOV/HOT lanes to pay a toll, unless it is carrying 3 or more occupants. EV’s and hybrids do not get a free pass.
  9. Lightning Charged to 345 miles and 100%.

A year ago I drove 300 miles. GOM showed 28 miles left on the battery as I pulled into my driveway.
  10. Your Username - why & what does it mean?

Career Marine, son of a Marine sergeant.
  11. Coming from a Model Y, talk me in/out of a Lightning

The Lightning is not a Tesla, so to me any comparison is an apples to oranges effort. As a truck, the Lightning is the best of the F-150ā€˜s that Ford makes (I’ve had a few). For my needs, the range (ER) and towing capacity (max) more than satisfy. It’s a bit tight in an urban environment (about...
  12. PSA: Get an Additional BlueCruise Year for Free (2022 and 2023 Models)

I have a ā€˜22 Lariat ER, and just got the one year extended plan for $0.00.
  13. I lost my charge port cover.

If you haven’t seen this video with Tom at State of Charge it will walk you through replacing the charge port cover. And he got his replacement charge door on Ebay.
  14. I lost my charge port cover.

Check eBay for the part. I replaced the broken Sunglass holder in the ceiling console and bought it on eBay.
  15. Check your Ford Lectron Adapter! {Solution Post 28}

I have the original A2Z adapter, the replacement A2Z adapter and now the Ford supplied adapter. I’ve not had any problems/glitches when using them with Tesla chargers.
  16. IF you could do it all over... what would you buy?

I was lucky to find a 22 Lariat ER dealer demo with 2300 miles at a 25% discount from MSRP. The truck has been a joy to drive and live with. I’m in rural Virginia which is heavy p/u country. People are curious about the truck, but can’t wrap their heads around what it is and are suspicious of...
  17. Taking the Politics Out of EVs

EV’s are opening up a world of new jobs requiring skills that don’t necessarily come with a college degree. When I talk with technical school and community college leaders they tell me they’re growing the options for skills training as fast as they can. And Congress has pending legislation that...
  18. Charging in the Delmarva (DE, MD & VA) Peninsula

I’m still waiting in my ā€œofficialā€ Ford to Tesla adapter. So I purchased the A2Z adapter and have not had any problems when using it at Tesla Superchargers - especially on Virginia’s Northern Neck and down into the Tidewater area.
