  1. How's this beast handle slush?

We had quite a bit of snow a couple weeks ago and then it warmed up so it was that snow/slush thing. I noticed one day two large accumulations under the front of the truck, probably the inner suspension that it could cling to. I got busy and didn't check it again but it's something I'll look at...
  2. 10000 Miles in the middle of Montana

I check Plugshare every few days thinking some magical new sites will appear. I'm looking forward to having SC access when it happens. The closest SC is only 44 miles away.
  3. 10000 Miles in the middle of Montana

Thanks FoMoCo! Now if you want to build me the perfect ranch pickup I need an extended range Pro with a regular cab!
  4. 10000 Miles in the middle of Montana

You are right, I carried the welder around this summer but never had to use it. I made an assumption that since it could start an RV a/c unit it could run a small mig. So today I tried it and sure enough I could only weld about an inch and the welder or inverter would stop and 3 to 4 seconds...
  5. 10000 Miles in the middle of Montana

Yes, I have the precondition set for my departures and during the cold snap I plugged in any time I was home, so if it wasn't moving it was plugged in. Yes elevation is a big one. It's 14 miles between my 2 places and 400 feet difference in elevation. I get about 1.8 going up hill and 2.5 or...
  6. 10000 Miles in the middle of Montana

Today I crossed the 10k mile mark in just over 5 months of ownership. So far it's been everything I was hoping it would be. The Lightning operates in almost the dead center of Montana, 100 to 130 miles from 4 of the major cities, Billings, Bozeman, Helena and Great Falls. I'm a rancher, a...

That's probably to set a gear pattern in the gear reduction units of the motors. I doubt that I generated much heat and pressure on that short a trip and lower speeds. 35 mph was about it.

This is my Lightning the 5th day I've had it. It's towing a 30ft Avion trailer that weighs about 6k, and it tows with ease. I've just covered about 20 miles of gravel road to an event for youth on range land plants and soils. Mud flaps are ordered and needed as you can see. The truck has a...
  9. ✅ 4/10/2023 Lightning Build Week Group (MY2023)

My salesman was very good, always checking in. Called me for first production date, then the delay, then the new production date, date built and the shipping. He pulled some of the info up on his computer while I was sitting there today. I'm guessing all dealers have the same info available...
  10. ✅ 4/10/2023 Lightning Build Week Group (MY2023)

Exactly 2 years and 1 day after I put in my reservation my Lightning XLT arrived at the dealer this morning. Got the call so I headed the 100 miles (it's a long ways to everywhere in rural Montana) to the dealership and got a look at it, did the paper work and lined up a bed liner install next...
