I think Teslas are currently doing mandatory end of lease returns. Not sure I want that certainty with the Lightning, would rather have the option to choose then rather than now.
so the road noise is less in the lightning? That's nice. I did read they tried to soundproof it some. it can tell a huge difference on the highway between our Subaru Outback and the M-B GL350. The sound dampening in the GL is outstanding. How much do they two vehicles vary in overall length...
ask them what happens when you decide to sell the house, I think the new owner has to agree to the solar agreement, it can cause issues there. Leases are a middle ground method to get solar, it's better than nothing, but owning the panels is much better. You will pay more than the cost of the...
There's also another rebate available that isn't income limited- has anyone talked about this one with their dealership? https://www.cleanfuelreward.com/
production isn't constant for retail units, I think the first few months were primarily dealer models, so the rate of production should increase as the summer goes on. Also wasn't there a new factory in production to make the 23's or is it later than that. If the 23's are going to be made...
I finally found it on Amazon. There are several options when you finally search the right terms. Interesting concept I didn’t realize that would work for power distribution
Where did you find that extension cord? Does it really split the 240v into multiple 120v outlets? That might be a good solution for the fridge and coffee maker in case of power outages now that I'm not going with the HIS.
Sunrun called today regarding my install and quoted me something like $1650 to install my "free" charger, without even looking at my setup. It's going on the outside of the house right next to the main power panel. No extended run, no travel through a wall, etc. Cheapest possible install...
not exactly. The 80amp charger is only to get power from your house to the truck. Getting it back from the truck to the house requires not only the 80 amp ford charging system but also the HIS which has the interlock switch and the inverter.
Sunrun is quoting a price of $9K+ for full install...
I'm leaning towards getting it, but I'm in CA with time of use electrical billing, and Ford has said that load leveling will be a future software capability. We've only had the power out at the house for more than an hour once in the last 7 years, so the backup isn't that important to me...
The lightning mobile charger is supposed to be the same as the MME, and from the videos I've watched, there's an interchangeable plug for both 110V and 220V
wow, if Love's or one of the other major truck stop locations would add chargers I would be all over it. Last year I drove my diesel GL350 back and forth across the country, and found truck stops to be the best place to stop when needed. They had diesel at every island, and large multi-stall...
Thanks, i think I'll go with that option for now. I don't want to charge via a 110/120 outlet since I have a 90 mile round trip daily commute and I can use the included mobile charger while I figure out whether to go all in on the home backup system with my existing solar.
Has anyone gotten a quote for running the 100amp line with a 14/50 outlet placeholder, then swapping that out with the 80 amp charger later? That's what I might do for now if it works. My run is right next to the house power panel, so the length isn't that long, it's the two trips that will get me.
I didn't say it's mandatory, but it does have to come from Sun Run, you can't get it at delivery and you don't get it from Ford. You can use your own electrician, but you still have to wait on Sun Run to deliver it. The system is broken, and I don't see it getting fixed for any of the 2022...
There's a ton of data available on battery choices, locations, and other options selected for all of the scheduled orders compiled on spreadsheets on this forum, and I think there's nothing that jumps out that says this is the reason a particular vehicle was selected to be built before another one.
I was a wave 3 Lariat ER order (2 Feb) and only got a build date last week for 8 August. There's probably still some early orders that haven't been scheduled yet. They are gradually scheduling everyone, but it's taking a while.
It's not just the backup system, they are also the delivery and installation vendor of choice for the charging system. Why I can't just get it with the truck at delivery and have any electrician install it is unacceptable.
