  1. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

I just got an Eversource ConnectedSolutions peak event warning. They will lower my AC now, and then raise it a few degrees from 15:30-20:00. It's gonna be a scorcher. They expect a large peak to happen from 3-8 with everyone coming home from work and turning on their AC.
  2. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

It was both Joey and Corey. They confirmed Sunrun is doing the install. And that it will be the FCSP with HIS. But then TMH will do a software layer over that... He also thought it would be a newer model of the FCSP. So even if you have one, it'll get replaced. They are going to be working on an...
  3. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

    I'm getting Corey (Electrical Designer).
  4. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

I'll find out at 13:00 today when they are (hopefully) coming over to check out my house.
  5. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

I got an email from Sunrun asking for the vehicle VIN. I cannot do the FCSP. I have tried and given up getting that on the WiFi. I hope that doesn't become a showstopper.
  6. Mass Save EV charger rebate - Ford Charge Station Pro problem

I think the V2X demo will go in the direction of us selling electricity at a higher rate (during peak hours) and buying it at a lower rate during off hours. I have solar (12kW), but that gives us about 10MW per year. Which is just our regular house usage. Geothermal and Lightning charging come...
  7. Mass Save EV charger rebate - Ford Charge Station Pro problem

I played dumb and submitted the $700 rebate request. (About a week or two ago when the website opened back up). I picked the Ford 80A charger from the list. We'll see what happens. What $0.05/kWh discount is there? Is that a MA one, or Eversource/NationalGrid specific? (We're on Eversource. And...
  8. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

Did they mention what charger? That Sunrun is specifically for the FCSP. And I for one cannot get mine to connect to my WiFi.. (And @Danface said they would install new chargers.. I was kind of counting on this so we have a model independent charger at the end (vs the Ford which is AC J-1772...
  9. Cost of EV Truck Insurance

Yeah, we went from a 2014 F150 to the 23 Lightning, and insurance went up by almost $1000 with Allstate. I'll try shopping around again this year. But (MA issues) we have 2 accidents on our record (someone else hit us when we still lived in NH, and was 100% their fault, and their insurance...
  10. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

Yes! That's the goal. My only potential issue is the charger right now is right next to the house (right outside of our dining room window, blocking our view a bit. It was installed in November so we didn't dig too much). And we want to move it 20 feet over. I'd happily pay for the delta in...
  11. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

Since they are going to support the Lightning, Leaf, and now the Kia EV9, it needs to be generic equipment. In the agreement, this is mentioned: (customer_participation_agreement.pdf) As part of the Program benefits, Customers in the Commercial and School cohorts will receive a 5- year...
  12. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

I am 99% sure the FCSP is not compatible. So for those of us that have it, they will remove it and replace it with a compatible charger. This is what I think we'll be getting: ChargePilot® - Fleet Smart Charging Solutions That's the controller that manages the flow and directs the charger...
  13. Massachusetts - Vehicle to X Program

    I just got this email:
  14. Confession: Got a little jealous of a Chevy EV...

$3000 per month at $5 per gallon (for easy math) is 600 gallons. At 15mpg, that's 9000 miles. With 30 days in a month, that comes to 300 miles a day. Which is exactly what was claimed... Though I suspect Francisco doesn't work 7 days a week. Slight variations in cost, efficiency, or daily...
  15. Where’s the savings!!!!

Yeah.. Looks like the website is still there, but the calculations aren't happening. Looks like DOGE got to it, just like the electricity cost website I posted earlier: https://www.bls.gov/regions/midwest/data/averageenergyprices_selectedareas_table.htm You'll have to do the math yourself. If...
  16. Universal Air Ride “White Lightning”…

Ok. I'll have to see if I can do something like this for my wife. Trick out her lightning.
  17. Universal Air Ride “White Lightning”…

Are those RGBW LEDs around the tire mount point? Can that be done on any Lightning?
  18. Where’s the savings!!!!

Definitely not the exception. Most of the US is an average of $0.15/kWh. We're the exception. It's just unfortunate we never get mentioned, so people in our areas (New England, California, Hawaii) that buy an EV thinking it's going to be so much less in fuel than an ICE get a sudden cold shower...
  19. Where’s the savings!!!!

That still really depends on where you live. I can charge for less at level 2 chargers away from home. (Home charging is $0.34/kWh, and public charging can be as low as $0.28, and many are $0.30) Welcome to Massachusetts. (But same holds in many New England states, California and Hawaii) We...
  20. Redundant soft buttons for physical buttons/user override or configurable

I would love to have a physical button for internal recirculation. When driving behind a diesel, or someone that's very overdue on their oil change, I want to close that off ASAP. Having to go to the menu, and then push it (while driving) isn't speedy or easy.
