The Fordpass api has so much more info that's not visible in the phone apps. Using the Home Assistant integration, it shows if the doors are locked or unlocked. If doors (and frunk/tailgate) are open/closed, and even if the (front) windows are open.
(On top of a ton of other data, like battery...
Wait.. That link says basically all Lightnings just have BC 1.0, except for 2024 and newer have 1.2, and none of them have been updated since release? (As opposed to the MME's which have been getting updates)
Thanks for the heads up. Just registered as well. Hoping the Western Mass location helps in being selected. I have been looking at the Home Integration System, but cost has been a slight deterrent.
I'm the commuter, so the Lightning is my wife's. (She also had the ICE F150 and traded it in for the Lightning)
Having said that, I do occasionally wish I could swap with her. It drives like a car and is spiffy as hell.
But it's just too expensive to drive.
Would (could) the cracking and popping noises be bad? Could they impact safety (limit turning, or anything else?)
I don't have anything to put the truck up on so I can look underneath, and I have no idea what moving elements are in those two areas.
Can confirm they are adding more VINs. I just checked again today (on the web), and where last week it was just showing the paid subscriptions, I now have the $0 12 month plan.
So if you previously did not have it, check back!
Is anyone else experiencing excessive ice buildup underneath the truck between the front wheels?
It's so bad that the truck is making noises when we try to make turns. This is mostly road slush that gets kicked up and gets stuck underneath the truck and then freezes into a solid mass.
Left side...
You definitely put your wipers up in snow. With proper winter blades, they may get some snow and ice on them, but you clear the windshield, and then lower them (slap them against the window a few times to get them to flex and shake the ice off), and then they warm up from your window defroster...
Not working here on web or app:
We have a 2023 Lariat (produced Nov 2023), bought in Nov 2024 with the 3 year trial.
I'm all for free, but not paying $500/year since it's not supported here in W. Mass except on I91.
We recently got a brand new 2023 (Nov 2024) and we got the free FCSP (via a code and ordered it online) and we got a $2000 discount on the truck for installing the charger ourselves (as opposed to them having Sunrun do it)
But that's a far cry from $8000.
We just got ours (2023 Lariat) in November '24 after it had sat at the dealer for about a year. It had been outside for a while but was in the showroom when we got it. We got a good deal (not a huge discount, but big enough to overlook the fact that it's white) and the MSRP was pennies under the...
Just found this.. Drive-Electric Fuel Savings Calculator | Department of Energy
Which (when I plug in the MA prices for gasoline and electric) shows that an EV will save us -453.13 per year.
Helpful for others in expensive electric states to see what their actual cost of EV ownership will...
Yeah, I have solar. And two years ago it covered 99% of my electricity (I had a $30 bill in March I think before solar outproduced our monthly usage again). But then we got geothermal, and now the EV.. And our December bill was $700.
Yeah, Mass is expensive. I did the math on my wife's old 2014 F150 vs her new Lightning. At current gas prices ($3/gallon), her old truck doing 15mpg, and the Lightning doing 1.6mi/kWh.
Going off that, it cost about $0.20 per mile in gas, which is $0.32 in gas to get 1.6 miles.
And we pay $0.33...
Is there a way to get the update without WiFi? (USB, serial, etc). I gave up on trying to get it connected. My main WiFi is too far away, but even when I took an old AP and put it right next to the charger, it would not connect (wouldn't show up in the router DHCP table).
Plug and Play. It'll charge any vehicle with CCS port.
Though good luck trying to get the app to talk to the Pro charger. I spent days on that and just gave up. YMMV, it sounds like some people were able to get it setup.
Hi, I'm trying to figure out if I have a similar issue. Trying to narrow down if it's an app issue or Ford/AA issue. I listen to audiobooks through Audiobookshelf in Android Auto. And every 10-30 minutes or so the app says it is still playing, but audio no longer comes out of the speakers...
