One trick - tip your cup just a bit if you can. Use the bottom of your cup to push one or two holders, then push down on the other side...
I love these cupholders more than any I've had. But this small change in my "insertion" behavior has made them even better.
Now on to more important topics...
You've been on an 11 minute trip. I've got no idea how you've been driving the rest of the 19 km, if you remote started, if your battery was cold, etc. Just too many variables in that short a trip to know anything.
By the time we get to that many EVs, a very high percentage of them will be charging at much faster rates. Also, I think your 20% needing to charge number is actually high. But that's just a guess on my part. Even in rural areas a very low percentage of people are traveling over 150 miles.
EV Ready today is not ready for mass adoption of EVs. That's not how they defined it at all. In theory it's about how to have a minimum level of infrastructure to start the next wave of adoption with the expectation that private industry will then step in.
I'm reality, it's also likely between...
Are you sure? The dark blue line is always epa max-ish. The shaded areas change as you play with the settings. When I use it it seems pretty accurate based on experience. It took me a minute to realize the dark line wasn't part of the calculation.
You have yet to see what draw more than 24 amps? Any EVSE? The Ford mobile charger specifically? And how are you going from the 14-30r to the 14-50p? A dongle adapter?
None of this feels like a good plan given the number of 30-32 amp EVSEs out there.
That ramp creates a big part of the aerodynamic challenge. Even though it's slotted (which will help) it's going to create a ton of drag at hwy speeds.
I'd love for someone a lot smarter than me to look at a bunch of different trailers to identify their aero properties. Never thought that would...
Yeah - it would be interesting to see if the shades are related to specific average speed or something, or if they're just a linear gradient for purposes of saying "farther is less and less likely."
That's actually pretty cool. And, based on my experience, relatively accurate though it doesn't really give a key as to what the different shaded areas mean.
These are the threads that help me realize I'm never going to be a "car guy." I love my truck. I want it to look nice. I take care of it. I wash it, I keep it clean, I try not to bang into it unnecessarily, etc. I do that with all my vehicles, even our Bronco that we take...
Was it windy? Did you precondition? That first stretch was pretty poor efficiency, even for towing (just over 1 mi/kWh), with a light, open trailer. The stretch home looked better. Makes me wonder if you were battling a headwind on the way out and had a tailwind on the way back.
But, cold...
In addition to all the correct responses that it's normal and temp-dependent (in addition to reduced power at low SOC), it's also rare that you would have any noticeable impact on performance without a really significant reduction and/or a performance situation (think towing an extremely heavy...
Love the pic. Also, agree on everything about the adapter - it's solid, it doesn't get hot at all (I've only used mine once and only put about 30kWh through it, but it had zero ambient warmth), and the addition of Superchargers as options is a huge upgrade to trip planning. Nice update!
You...
Not feeling very reflective. Just sharing experiences that others seem to share.
Everyone's expectations are their own. I'm not mad. I just think Ford's approach to OTAs sucks for customers. I don't believe they're handling it as well as they could. And I don't believe there's anything wrong...
No. What I bought in the 90s (because I'm old enough to have had a pickup truck then) is of no relevance to the expectations I have of a modern vehicle.
And I'm glad you're getting OTAs regularly now. I'm not. I did for a while once. Haven't had one for a couple months. You are. I'm in line, I...
Plenty of people seem to be linking criticism of the way Ford is handling OTA updates with the idea we don't think the vehicle is amazing. Both can be true. My Lightning is my favorite vehicle I've ever driven, I love it, it's fantastic. AND Ford's approach to software for this vehicle is...
