Holy moly
my Pro was 62 ish out the door (49,9 + tag, title, 6.5%sales tax, and $2500 destination fee. (had about 5k of options)
I struggled not opting for an ER Lariat with the 7.5k customer cash-it may have been the better value. But in the end- it’s just a work truck so I opted to just keep...
I suspect the battery has, in reality, a substantially higher capacity than 98KW.
Keeping SOC in the middle is good- but the difference between 20-80 and 40-60 isn’t as great as it sounds because of this.
As someone once said, the truck should be working for you, not the other way around.
enjoy!
.
nonsense.
a 50 amp service (80% rule) would require 62.5 Amp wire size, which (at minimum) 6 gage wire fulfills. The length of the run of course could require a larger wire.
of course, why anyone would go through the trouble to run anything larger than the largest charger the truck could...
I have a pro and charge at 48 amps. My charger pulls about 11KW. I’m not sure what tangible or noticeable difference you’d see between 48 and 50 amps?
As Blochead mentioned above- you need at least 6 gage wire for either 48 or 50 amp circuit.
That’s nuts. I don’t think I would have purchased if I had heard your experience before I purchased. I can understand not having parts. I can’t understand (or forgive) the complete lack of communication.
That’s great and pretty encouraging to hear. 49 psi? I had no idea u could go that high.
Was your driving interstate or did you stick to local highways?
My Nav unit hasn’t crashed on my 12” screen. However… it froze for about 30 seconds yesterday, and froze again today, for about 10 minutes before suddenly waking up.
Fingers crossed it’s just an anomaly. The built in nav unit in this truck is impressive.
I totally agree with the sentiment, but it’s worth mentioning several things.
We’re enriching China, and have become quite dependent on them for the precious minerals necessary for battery manufacturing. Additionally, we’re literally funding child slave labor in the process.
The USA is sitting...

According to Ford:
“You can find Magic Dock-equipped locations through the FordPass®** App or your vehicle's Connected Navigation system.”
I’ve heard the owners manual recommend charging to 100%. I haven’t been able to find where it says this, but can’t find where it suggests charging to something less, either.
Battery health and longevity being key, I believe it’s common knowledge that staying between 80% and 20% of a batteries...
Heh, same.
I brewed biodiesel, as well as converted one of my diesels to run straight grease.
I still can’t figure out what was more of a pain. The leftover biodiesel stew of the never ending used grease filtration and learning curve of just how to convert the fuel delivery system.
I ran a...
I just received my F150 lightning. I have a question about regenerative braking. While using it will extend the lifespan of the brake pads, and other brake components, does it do so at the expense of shorter ev motor life?
EV efficiency aside, which one is less expensive when long term...
Thanks for the tip- that's exactly what I ordered. I needed to educate myself with some youtube on how to drill a 3 5/8" hole saw through cinder block- but in the end it's absolutely perfect, and functions properly. I needed to cut the back end off the two RV port covers (impossible to tell...
I just picked up my long awaited 2023 Lightning Pro last night, and need floor mats. I don't believe my truck has a back seat storage box, and all the back seat bench options I'm seeing mention custom cut for storage box.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Off topic- I love this truck...
Picked up the pro tonight. Avalanche. It’s much better looking, and drives better than anticipated. A few gaps uneven, but all in all it’s terrific. It’s a bit higher than my 2 wheel drive f250 diesel, but man does it drive nicer?. The “small” screen on the Pro is still huge.
I bought it to be...
