That's interesting. I had figured that any new Superchargers put in at this point forward would be compatible. I don't know why they wouldn't, as they'd be missing out on business.
I have a family friend that is an electrician. He has been to my house to assess an installation. I told him I would prefer a 100A circuit since my truck can take 80A. Unfortunately, he’s been hard to reach since the initial walkthrough. I may have to investigate the FPL program.
Yeah, I’ve got the NACS and Destination adapters. I’ve used the NACS at the supercharger close to my house a few times. I’ve only got the free travel charger right now, so I usually need to hit that one or the FPL charger in Fort Walton once a week or so.
flabrent,
Good to see another Lightning in the area. I live in Gulf Breeze, but work in Fort Walton Beach. When I got my truck a couple of months ago, it was from a dealer up in Buford, GA. I did my first charge ever on the way home. I stopped at the Sam's Club around Montgomery. It's an...
Well, sort of like being able to change your ringtone from whatever the default is. I will admit, at least it's not quite as obnoxious as the back up beeping on my box truck.
Yeah, sort of surprised that there's not an option to change the beep to a different noise. I was at a supercharger the other day and a cybertruck pulled up. When he locked his doors, it did the "Iron Man Repulsor Charging" sound.
I have had it refuse to move at all after hitting the fob and even when I gave it the assist. Only happened a couple of times in the 2 months I've had the truck. Unfortunately, one of them was when I was showing it to my ev skeptical father for the first time. :curse: The next time I drove it...
These days it's WAAAY easier to just pop out one of those little bluetooth portable speakers for that. I got one for about $100 to put in my box truck. It's significantly less than replacing my cab speakers and actually louder/better sound quality anyway.
Yeah, I have a "two" car garage, but they'd have to be smaller cars. I have room on the sides for the Lightning, but as has been noted in other threads, only about an inch or 2 clearance front to back.
I'd LOVE a 3 car.
I hope these guys are successful. My father just got a Tacoma and I feel like this could have done the same thing. Of course, he's a bit of a luddite, so an EV for him probably wouldn't be so good.
