Virginia actually has a still-small program to do exactly that... measure the miles and get charged accordingly. I think at least one member here is signed up for it. Overall, I like the concept although I do not like the associated "where does Your vehicle drive" state agency tracking this...
I've towed our teardrop camper all over the country, coast to coast+, with our Lightning.
BLUF: yes DO use the TOW mode. There are unseen software and vehicle sway & wheel force factors that are active in TOW which aren't active in NORMAL.
Weight of the towed trailer practically doesn't...
Every user's decision is different... I almost (!!) went with the Retrax but I didn't because 1). that rollup box takes a LOT of the small bed's space up front, and btw. it seems to be the same sized rollbox for all three bed lengths... meaning, on a 5.5 foot bed there is a lot of unused...
Yeah I agree... for me, the Canadian Ma Capuche port fabric cover is a convenience which lets me get going quickly without hassle. If this were a true technical risk, Ford would have had a different port design.
I use the Canadian Macapuche EV charging port cover. Works really well in heavy snow and in freezing rain and nasty slush.

It is in French and in English - just click on the language on the top right left now... they changed their web page.

Actually there are a few (not many but they are there) Tesla non Magic Dock superchargers in the NAV. They've been in the NAV since at least 2023.
However, yes it is beyond the pale for about 5 - 8% of Tesla Superchargers to be in there and the overwhelming majority, to not be listed.

I note that we participants, every one of us, can only speak credibly about our personal position. None of us can credibly speak for the mythical "average auto owner". Same goes for the wider category of "average auto user" (because not every user is an owner). Ditto for the even more...
On one of the Russian software mod companies' web page for the Ford / Mazda family (not/not FORScan) there had been a security product listed called in Russki a "seed", basically a hardwired hard-to-locate security locker / CANBUS system immobilizer for any RF-based theft approaches to the Ford...
This is an interesting technical solution.
However, the selection for the TG2 for the F150 stops at the 2015 - 2020 F150 versions.
Per their web page, the TG3 and TG4 selections will not work with the 360 camera OEM functions.
Between these two limits, that mostly rules out our Lightnings...
Don't know... I can research this with UPS and with FedEx if You send me a DM with a zip code or an address to either (or to both).
The spare is wheel is just sitting there taking up shed space. I'd rather it be useful for someone.
Hmmm... I tow fairly often, in season. Perhaps the truck's trailer brake monitor (the TRM module) has detected unusual signal(s) or unusual behavior from the trailer's brakes? or another component like lights? ...meaning, perhaps there is a safety-related fault but it is on the trailer side...
And I just looked up Lake Itasca MN... and I see a whole wall of Tesla Destination AC charging points. These Tesla Destination points are usually free. All it takes is an adapter.
Although the DC Fast stations can be the most convenient charging points on a long road trip, insisting on using only DC Fast stations for charging seems (to me) akin to insisting that one will only ever drink beer from a beer stein, and never from a beer glass or even a paper cup.
Beer is...
