It should help, Kyle did note that Ford said it would be active outside of towing.
Kyle did push the Lariat he drove and didn't see battery temperatures fluctuate much at all, it had the max tow package. I believe it was also a hot day and he save a peak charge speed of 172kW which is pretty...
Until the Pro @ $40K is widely available for purchase, no one really should consider it in talk about pricing...
Technically, even the XLT Standard @ $52K was a small allocation by Ford:
The only trim levels that had notable inventory for purchase was Lariat and above.
Pro was ~ 3-4% -...
Follow up on Video from Kyle:
I spoke with a Ford employee after this video and they said that the standard pack should hit 150kW on a DCFC. The extended pack hit 173kW delivered. Also, the largest problem with the Pro trim for a normal consumer is that they aren’t making enough of them for...
Only complaint is how long they went on how great of a value it is, and how it's the best value you can buy....
But, Ford basically allowed no one to buy it @ $40K.
It's the Black Friday doorbuster that has 3 in stock and 2 went to employees.
100%, but...
The time to charge is similar information.
If the truck should do 15-80% in 40-45 minutes...
You plug in @ 30% with the charge set @ 80% and see it's going to take over an hour, somethings wrong... try the next charger.
I agree, they need the kwh reading.
But, you do get some understanding of speed since it did have a time until complete based on the percent the car is allowed to charge too.
So if car confirmed to 80% , then if your on a good charger that number should be under 40 minutes.
XLT standard is priced "just right" for what you get.
Without the unobtainable Pro being teased and flaunted at $40K, a $52k XLT would be a good deal. Build a comparable ICE XLT and it costs more (~$10K more if you include tax credit). If it's not your long distant road tripping vehicle, it's...
Thanks for your video Kyle...
I had high expectations and you managed to meet them :)
Waiting for the Standard battery review, really interested in finding out why Ford "derated" the charge speeds there (120kW max vs 155) if you have that information.
I'm a bit underwhelmed -- not for the truck itself, just the videos. Really didn't find anything new and everything came out as expected.
Hopefully Out of Spec comes out w/ some more quality technical content.
I think that driver the faster/charge more often might breakdown with the poor highway efficiency and slow charge speeds.
This definitely works for my ioniq5.
But my quick routes seem to make it wash for the lightening. So kind of preference of where to spend your time sitting and charging...
oooph, pretty bad look by Ford here. On the DougScore, only got 48 (Rivian got a 73)... Handling was really bad, and ford practically lied about acceleration...
Knew Ford has something up its sleeve to destroy the competition.
As long as you don't need DC speeds, looks like it'll self-charge. Not exactly sure how it works, but Ford definitely cracked the code here, probably some small scale nuclear fission reactor.
Probably why shipments are slow to...
I guess we could hold out some hope that there's another hidden level for those of us with high credit scores. If it gets to around 3% I'd consider it.
Will keep you in mind.
Have you used logix before? Looks like a good rate.
If the rate from ford options is too high, I may opt for the cheapest APR I can find.
Ford better be quick with my 6/6 build. It's getting more expensive each day to buy the truck between reduced trade in and higher...
