Make sure you carry one of those little jump boxes. A very small (cheap) one will do as it takes very little current to start the truck with a weak battery.
The acessory mode, the app and the key fob kill those little 12v batteries.
I can't think of a reason for the acessory mode in an electric or plug in hybred vehicle. It eats the small 12v battery quickly and can damage it through regular discharging. Batteries are small due to not needing...
Very nice comparisons. My '23 Ecoboost was a bit less than the Raptor but not much. The anti EV crowd is really concerned about how long it takes to charge yet they actually spend more time at gas stations overall than charging.
One thing that surprised me is that I haven't ever driven tired...
That, of course, has nothing to do with the subject.
The aero explanation makes a lot of sense, particularly combined with the differences in fuel and charging doors.
While I can't say for sure how Ford works, I went to great lengths testing this in a Niro PHEV even to the point of extended downhill in cruise and not then measuring brake temperature.
Again, I can't say how Ford works but, without reservation, I can say how it should and thus may work. I know...
But since we're here, still no AA route planning for my '25 Flash despite another complaint to the dealer while they did the brake recall.
I end up doing a combination of ABRP and Google maps. I try to navigate using Google because it gives me traffic hazards and detours when needed. I even...
This may not be useful but i had the 12v get low and had the same symptoms. Charged it up and all has been well for the last couple of months.
Also there is a current recall on my '25 concerning the ABS.
Tesla is often a bit of a challenge. I've only had one time where I couldn't charge. The charge area was used as a Tesls parking lot; no charging, just parking. Once I had to touch a bollard to get close enough. Twice the truck port overheated so I now carry a wet rag. Three times the...
He was reviewing the '25 Flash that has been dumbed down a bit from '24. My '25 is missing the power tailgate, spare tire, tailgate step, desk, rear light bar and still AA trip planning. It has the 123 KWH battery as well. Some of those things are options.
The one thing I most agree with is...
As far as wear and tear a light foot is surely a good thing but I'm not sure it is that much better in efficiency. A little for sure due to wind resistance arriving early but getting to an efficient cruise earlier compensates for the higher energy use in brisk acceleration. How much this...
Excellent as always. As a point of referance, I use the Ford labeled adapter and have had it overheat twice on Tesla superchargers. It is obviously the truck that stopped the charge. I didn't have an IR thermometer so I don't know what temperature it disconnected. I started using a damp...
1pd is annoying to me as well but I hear over and over how great it is when you get used to it. I think Ford, like many others gave us, gas off, just enough regen to feel like an ICE car. I wish they could give us coast but there is something about direct drive and a permanent magnet motor...
One pedal driving is often quoted as maximizing regen but, as I understand it the brake pedal does the same until ether the low speed requires friction brakes or a high level of braking requires friction. I know that is the case in other EVs and PHEVs.
