I am hoping that you've just had a bit of rough luck on the Lightning. I have a 2022 Mach-E now for a year now and haven't had any physical issues - very reliable and predictable. 2023 Lightning for 6 months and again, not one physical issue - reliable and predictable. I have a few annoyances...
The implications of this would be catastrophic for this technology. It is not ready to let people sleep at the wheel. People will die. Multiple times in the past year of using this technology, I've had to take control to keep the vehicles (Lightning and Mach-E) from committing suicide and...
I have them on my 2023 and previously on my ICE 2018 - love them. They come out further, lower, and have a larger step than their fixed counterparts. Much nicer for my elderly parents to climb in. They are inexpensive to order with the new vehicle but expensive to retrofit. They also take a...
Same situation here. What a load of crap. For such a simple item that has been on F-150 trucks for the past decade, this is a big miss for a simple item by Ford. I want my heated steering. I get the chip shortage at the time - Fix it and do us right by the truck.
What does it look like after the update? This is the way mine looks since new. The 100 on the battery side always annoyed me. Everyone knows the top of the gauge is 100%. Much more useful to show the actual SOC in that space. Currently that 100 is a complete waste.
In my case, it failed 10 times. On the 11th, I left the truck at 98% SOC unplugged and it succeeded. Go figure. A bit more clarity on the reason for failed updates would take some of the frustration out.
Yes. It was plugged in and charged to 100% with all doors/windows up and locked and the lights off.
Last night it updated on the 11th try. Truck was NOT plugged in - SOC was 98%. All previous attempts, the truck was plugged in. Apparently this update doesn’t want the truck plugged in.
No luck. This update has failed 10 times now with nothing but an indication that a process is running in the background and that "Help us install your new Ford Power-Up" message. Frustrating.
I highly doubt it will be any more than a very short block adapter. Introduction of any cord will introduce potential failure points that neither the charger or the vehicle can monitor or will know how to manage. It will probably look very close to the adapter block on the Magic Dock.

Will give that a try too. I had to turn off approach lighting since it is tied to the deployable running boards. Every time I walked by the truck, it lit up and flapped its wings trying to fly like a penguin.
I'd be interested in seeing the data on this specifically for cell chemistry used in FORD battery packs. Could you provide some detail so we can make educated decisions on our charging?
This particular update has failed 5 times so far on my Lightning. No issue with the 12V battery since I reset the BMS a week ago and the truck is plugged in so I doubt that is it. Seems this particular update is a bit goofy. It is complaining about a running process that stopped the update...
Yes, I have read the manual and understand the limitations and continue to stand by on the ready. I know we can do better and make the roads safer by tweaking some of these goofy quirks of BlueCruise.
I ordered mine in April and it only took a few days but was incorrect like The Weatherman. I told my dealer to order another one and see if they have it figured out yet.
I also ordered the one above and it has been 3 months now. The first one came in with the ICE Aeroskin in the box. Apparently, Ford packed a bunch of ICE F150 Aeroskins with the Lightning part numbers. They don't fit the Lightning and they haven't figured out how to get the correct Aeroskins...
If Ford happens to be watching this thread, please fix this feature. It is useless to have the message described above sit in the middle of what you are trying to inspect to ensure safety. It is distracting and dangerous.
I found this to be the number 1 annoyance with BlueCruise. Overall it is pretty good but Stop-n-Go traffic requires it to be disabled to keep the passengers from soiling their seats in more ways than one. Interested to see if others experience this and have any insight to Ford's improvement on...
