  1. Ford Retractable Tonneau Cover is noisy.

I had the Diamondback SE since 2015 and just upgraded to the HD on the Lightning. Very nice covers with great utility. If you want security and utility in a package, this is the best one I've seen.
  2. Charging unattended

Press the Vehicle icon on the bottom of the app, then the Charging dropdown, then Preferred Times. Select the location and it will allow you to set the Max Charge Level for that location. Make sure to scroll down and press the "Save" button.
  3. Charging unattended

Agree it used to be flakey but seems to work better now with the updates to the truck and app. I adjusted my change profiles through the app a few times for 2 different locations in the past 2 weeks and worked fine. 6 months ago it likely wouldn't have worked as well if at all.
  4. Charging unattended

If you have your FordPass account set up on your phone and you have your phone with you, you can do it anytime. You don't have to be at the truck to set up the charger parameters. The truck is connected all the time through WiFi or Cellular.
  5. NACS to CCS1 adapter now available!

We should be careful about confusing the Magic Dock chargers with standard SuperChargers. Magic Doc chargers already support NACS/CCS and have the adapter available at the charging station and we can use them today if available in your area. Other Tesla SuperChargers that would require a...
  6. Failed update

This worked for me. It also got rid of the annoying "Electrical System Drain Service Required" message I was getting every day or two. Turns out the battery was fine. BMS was out of whack.
  7. Advice buying used

SR will do what you describe. I would consider the resale value in your calculations. ER will definitely hold its value better and I would choose that route even if for no other reason. The new trucks coming out in the next few years will have better range and I expect the resale value of...
  8. Charging unattended

Lots of good suggestions in the thread. The reality is that Ford has accounted for the impact of owners charging to 100% continuously and leaving it plugged in. The battery warranty numbers are built into that calculation. I wouldn't leave it plugged in at 100% for longer than a day or so...
  9. Adaptive/blue cruise delayed slowing?

While I understand the design/programming challenges, BlueCruise needs to account for traffic coming to an abrupt stop and moving forward in the accordion fashion. It is simply unavoidable on our highways. Even in stop-and-go traffic, the Lightning aggressively accelerates when the car ahead...
  10. Home charger for 2022 Lariat ER

It really depends on how you use the truck. I have a 40A charger and when I pull in at midnight with 20% charge and need to be at 100% charge at 7am next morning, it doesn't do it. I did this yesterday and only got to 70%. It takes 12 hours to fully charge 20%-100% on my 40a setup. 50 amp...
  11. Addressing torque steer?

If this is the case, Off-Road mode should not affect Torque Steering. I think we just have to hang on tighter when we want to launch ;-)
  12. Addressing torque steer?

To my knowledge, Off-Road mode only locks the rear differential, not the front. Has anyone tested this?
  13. Is your PAAK reliable?

I’ve had it fail a few times however I was able to get it straightened out. It primarily failed when switching between my wife’s MME and my Lightning. Very frustrating until I found that walking away from the truck out of Bluetooth range and restarting the app generally works. Restarting the...
  14. Addressing torque steer?

Remarkably more power, traction, and weight than any Tesla, Porsche, STI etc. I have a high-pressure turbo Volvo S60 FWD and it is far worse than the Lightning for torque steering. It is a function of the differential in the front (ie. it turns the easiest wheel first). It can be solved by...
  15. Driving behind an annoying Lightning

Agree it would be nice to have an indicator when the brake light turns on. It will allow us to fine-tune our pedal action. In the meantime, I've watched mine at night (since you can see it then) and gentle regen does not turn it on. Mid to full regen definitely does. I've had a few cases...
  16. Stop Driving Immediately: high voltage battery and power train warning

I found a post that suggests the LVB Battery Management System (BMS) can get out of whack and cause this error. I found the procedure for resetting the LVB BMS so I'm going to try that and see if it clears it up.
  17. OTA Downloading Issue

The modem is probably ok then. You can try turning automatic updates OFF, wait for 30 seconds, and then back ON again. I've seen the soft switches get confused on their state showing ON, however, when operating in the background, it treats it as OFF. Sometimes cycling the switch solves that...
  18. OTA Downloading Issue

Jsfrye, It may seem like a silly question, but did you verify your modem is working? OTA requires the modem and it isn't uncommon for it to get hung up killing all future updates until it is fixed. I would expect your dealer to have checked that but did you verify? Try connecting the truck...
  19. Stop Driving Immediately: high voltage battery and power train warning

Interesting. I seem to get it regularly, yet when I check the LVB voltage it is perfectly fine. I've had the message since new and the dealer has multiple F150Ls with a similar situation. If you've had yours for a year, you probably have a 2022 (lucky you - you probably have heated steering...
  20. Stop Driving Immediately: high voltage battery and power train warning

The "Electrical System Drain Service Required" message is a big annoyance. I've been getting this regularly and tracked it down to this: If I plug in my F150L outside of my charge setting window, I will almost always get this message after a few hours. Otherwise, I would never see it. It's...
