My ā94 Explorer never had anything other than regular maintenance. I traded it for a ā99 Explorer and it only had regular maintenance until the transmission failed around 160k miles. I traded it for a Fusion in 2009 that I still have. The Fusion had a couple of recalls for airbags and brake...
Even though my worst experiences have been with EA they are usually fine. I just thought it was funny that they noticed. I got a similar email from Exxon a few months after I got the truck.
My main problem with them today is that most of their sites I would use are only 4-6 dispensers. When Iām...
Mine came from the factory with a liner so I donāt have any experience with the local shops. The Raleigh Line-X is right next door to Capital Fordās service center and I think that is who they use. The Pro-Power is not exclusive to Lightning so they should have experience working with it.
The lemon law comment was just a joke to highlight the ridiculous posts about the GOM. I assume Ford is confident that they can detect and deal with the consequences of a low coolant level without monitoring the actual level in the tank so they left out a sensor for cost reasons.
Yes they are probably secure but if you push the button on the NACS end it will allow you to unplug it. If you do that without stopping the charge you could get an arc flash which best case burns you and worst case kills you. The solution is a 10 cent microswitch that they seem resistant to adding.
I was able to find some pictures of the Ignace site on the Tesla supercharger.info site. I looks like they are only running 3 dispensers per cabinet based on the conduit runs. They also have 2 transformers at the site so each cabinet seems to get its own. I wonder if it is something uniquely...
I think it was smart of Ford to not give too much temp information. Every day you see people ready to lemon law their truck because the guess-o-meter varies by 10 miles. The range of normal operating temps for the battery is huge and most people would not be able to process that. An ICE truck...
Iāve never seen a 4 or 6 port Tesla station. They are always a multiple of 4 since thatās what each V3 cabinet will support and I donāt know of any single cabinet sites. Are there actually some 4 port V3 sites out there?
Itās not a myth. All of the statistics are scaled to the population. According to NTSB stats ICE vehicles have about 3500 fires per 100,000 vehicles while EVs have about 25 per 100,000. There is probably some skewing in the data based on vehicle age. There are plenty of 20, 30, and even 40 year...
Tomorrow, August 23 the Carolinas Lightning Club is having a meetup at the Ionna Garner Rechargery in Garner, NC. We'll be there from 11-2 if anyone wants to join us.
I doubt Ford will ever allow 120V charging at more than 16A. The J1772 spec only specifies 12A and 16A for level 1 and I canāt see Ford violating the spec.
