I get that Ford wouldnāt want to publicize defects but they canāt even take a victory lap. People begged for a digital SOC indicator and the release notes for the updates that included it never mentioned it. They did brag about making the frunk alarm louder though.
Also read the thread on CSP 23B70 (https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/csp-23b70-certain-2022-23-f-150-lightnings-bms-sensor-replacement.17900/). If you havenāt had that done yet you should schedule it with your dealer (make sure they have the part in stock before you let them have...
That message āFord will make a new updateā¦ā usually means that it has expired and youāll have to wait until it is pushed to your truck again. @rugedraw can check your history to see what caused it to fail but itās about 90% going to be 12V battery related. Have you had the BMS replaced...
I have no idea. I hadnāt seen that thread on the MachE forum but I had seen a video where someone swapped the 30A and 32A Ford versions between a MachE and a Lightning unit and they worked. Iām not sure how or why Webasto would have made units that would only work with specific dongles but I...
You can buy the 32A version of the dongle from Webasto at the link below. The Lightning actually ships with a 30A version so that it can be plugged into the ProPower in the bed and used to charge another EV. The Lightning version is available from Ford with the Ford markup...
FYI, my service advisor at Capital is Phillip Bouche. Heās done all the CSPs on at least one Lightning. Here is his contact info, you usually get the best response by text.
When I opened FordPass this morning I saw a message about an update flash by and disappear. When I got in I checked SW updates and saw this. Last updates were 6.8 and DOR-2.
Capital Ford in Raleigh has been pretty good. University in Durham is also owned by Capital but I donāt think that means much. They all seem to be run independently. Iāve talked to others in the area that had good luck at Crossroads in Apex and Leith in Wendell. The key is to be prepared and...
I think itās pretty clear you will have to use the FordPass app or the screen in the truck to initiate charging. Otherwise, once they open it to Ford any CCS car could get an adapter and open a Tesla account. Hopefully it will just work like it does for Teslas, just plug in and it charges.
Yes, the door will unlock if the fob is in my pocket and I touch the back of the handle. I tried to open the frunk with the fob in my pocket and it will not open. Also, the tailgate will open if the doors are locked and I press the button on the tailgate with the fob in my pocket. I only did the...
It should but it does not. I have an SR Lariat w/o BlueCruise and my frunk button does not work if the doors are locked. I just tried it with the fob in my pocket. I was curious if the problem was that there isnāt a sensor at the front of the truck so I tried it again with the fob by the door...
Have you had the BMS sensor replaced (CSP23B70)? Mine struggled to complete updates but since I got the new sensor Iāve had 2 updates complete on the first try. Iāve never had an update complete without multiple tries and I had one last year that failed 14 times before it completely bricked the...
The charger communicates with the truck to tell it the maximum current available. The truck determines how much it actually takes so there is no danger of it taking too much current.
Iāve had mostly good experiences with Capital in Raleigh and Iāve heard postitive comments from others about Crossroads in Apex. After reading a lot of the dealer horror stories on here weāre lucky to live where we have multiple good options.
The adapters have no way to communicate with either side. The most they can do is have a thermistor that will disconnect the pilot signal if it gets too hot.
