We’ve been working pretty closely with the model E team, and I’ve gotten to know many of their staff, including their chief engineer for lightning.
Most regions have EV engineering subject matter experts that will do training and work with dealerships on repairs - I was just taking advantage of...
Well, my reasoning for doing it is - if Ford is willing to replace some critical components that have 2 1/2 years of wear on them for free, I’m willing to let them do that as long as they have the right techs working it.
Also, as a systems engineer myself, I understand the value they can get...
I received it yesterday. I contacted my dealer to schedule a date. I also reached out to my engineering contacts at Ford to coordinate their regional EV SME to shadow with the dealer to ensure it’s done right.
I have had no power train or battery issues for 2.5 years - certainly don’t want...
I have also seen that warning one time and it was after an OTA and I have never seen it since. I have almost 70,000 on my 2023 Lariat ER and the only real issue I have experienced was with the Telemetics Communications Unit that would cause FordPass connectivity issues - but Ford replaced that...
A ton of great suggestions here.
If none of those work for you I wanted to share that my 2023 Lariat ER had intermittent issues for about the first 9 months - Ford initially thought it was software but they ended up replacing the TCU Telematics Communications Unit and I have not had issues...
I have just over 67,000 miles on my 2023 Lightning Lariat ER and have never heard any issues ( and I have very sensitive hearing ). Hope they can isolate the issue for you.
I would tend to agree - I have a 2023 Lariat ER with almost 67,000 miles on it now and I have only ever had issues with the TCU (telematics communications unit) - never had mechanical issues.
I also have this issue - the retro fit was done in late 2023 in my 2023 Lariat ER, but I have no option in FordPass for the wheel in climate.
@Ford Motor Company- should this have been completed as part of the retrofit?

We coordinate a lot of activities and meetups, many times with the Ford Model-E team, lots of great people involved with the clubs.

I would not say that - @Ford Motor Company have reached out to me several times and put me in contact with engineering for issues so they do care about issues customers are experiencing.
@Ford is looped in now and I am confident they will take care of you as they have me in the past (for different, less critical of an issue). I will be watching this thread.
No new updates on the issue - the replaced TCU seems to have resolved the issue and Ford covered 70% of the cost because it was out of warranty but they started working on it prior to warranty being expired - but they would not cover all of it. Other than this the truck has been flawless in it...
Yes - Mine looks like this too…I think they only bring the carpet up as far as you can visually see getting in and out of the truck to save $$ on material costs.
Not that I have experienced - do you have Speed Sign Recognition turned on or off? I disabled that a long time ago because it was too sensitive and not always accurate.
I mainly notice squeaks in the door panels but only if I rest my knee on the side of them - the mix of hard plastics and the aluminum panels seems to be a bad combo.
The only other issue I have is a rattle that is coming out of my C-pillar on the passenger side - still trying to hone in on what...
