  1. Using 240V extension cord with mobile charger?

I purchased the following cord on sale from Amazon 2-years ago and use it at the cottage quite often. No issues. It's a heavy duty cable. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B085HNNQHD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  2. New EVSE option: a BReAKER with built-in EV Charging: EATON

I'll open out the outlet next time we are up there to see if the connection is still good. It's a good point, I have not removed the outlet to see.
  3. New EVSE option: a BReAKER with built-in EV Charging: EATON

Nice to emeet a fellow EE however I’m not a practicing professional. The EV outlet is a dedicated circuit. We use the charger sparingly when we go up to the cottage maybe 6-8 times a year and usually only charge the truck once to 100% for our return trip home. My place is old and has the old...
  4. New EVSE option: a BReAKER with built-in EV Charging: EATON

I am not sure. I can't use the Ford mobile cord that I have - it always blew my fuse. It's a 40A charger that can't be dialed down. I have an amproad ev charger that I set to 32A charging which was still blowing the fuses. By adding this panel (no wifi), the fuses, hopefully, won't blow...
  5. New EVSE option: a BReAKER with built-in EV Charging: EATON

I had bought the following during the Amazon Prime days for $120 CDN: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0C8HP6NYC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Installed it at the cottage and it has been amazing. I was blowing my 40amp bussman fuses all the time - it would cost me $20 each time I had to...
  6. Ford Gave Me 2 Level 2 Chargers

I bought a couple of different adapters from Amazon and I was unable to. May have to look into this. Thx.
  7. Ford Gave Me 2 Level 2 Chargers

To answer one of your questions, I have been unable to charge a Tesla Model Y using the multiple adapters from Amazon (from FCSP to Tesla adapter) and connected to the FCSP. I gave up and installed a 240v outlet separately for my wife to charge her Tesla. There are many threads and I'm not sure...
  8. Ford Mobile Charger at Campsite 30amp

Yowza, $600 for that Charger. May have to rethink this. Too bad we can't limit the Ford Mobile Charge to a specific amperage.
  9. Ford Mobile Charger at Campsite 30amp

Unfortunately, most campsites in Ontario (Canada) only offer the 30-amp circuit. I'm heading to a campsite July 1st and I have been told by some tesla owners that its a NEMA 14-30 outlet. I bought an adapter and was hoping to charge the truck at 30-amps but not sure - will see if I get lucky but...
  10. Charger Pro Extension Cord

It's much more pliable than a typical 3/3 awg wire. No one at Ford can tell me. May have to rewire my FCSP outside to make it easier.
  11. Charger Pro Extension Cord

As an Electrical Engineer, I shouldn’t be making these mistakes. Lol.
  12. Charger Pro Extension Cord

Firstly I apologize. It’s 3 awg wire. I’m running a 6awg for my Nena 14-50 outlet at the cottage so I got my wires crossed. Certified electrician installed this at home. ESA inspected as well.
  13. Charger Pro Extension Cord

After using it for 4-months, outside would have been better but there just isn't any place where it would have been installed without some conduit running along the outside of the house. Wife wouldn't have been happy with that. Again, it's a first world problem that I'm trying to figure out.
  14. Charger Pro Extension Cord

It’s a 6/3 AWG. We ran a 6/3 to a new subpanel in the garage at 100-amps. From the subpanel with 100-amp breaker it goes to the charger. So 6 AWG handles 80-amps.
  15. Charger Pro Extension Cord

Exactly. It needs for be rated for 80-amp. Need 6 gauge wire for sure. Haven’t seen anything I could find.
  16. Charger Pro Extension Cord

Is there any adapter I can buy to extend the length of the charger pro? Mine is installed in the garage but I charge outside. The problem is that I would like to reverse park my truck but I can't because the cable isn't long enough for me to close the garage. Just wondering if there are...
  17. Ford Charger Pro Station not charging my wife's tesla

You have to turn the dial inside the charger to lower the amperage.
  18. Mobile charger rate setting?

I have been waiting 4 months for my FORD Mobile charger which I am supposed to get Free but they are backordered. I've heard that these chargers are not great as you can't throttle them down. I ended up buying Amproad from amazon and its great - can adjust amperage. However, at $500 CAD I'd...
  19. Should you charge everyday.

I plug my vehicle in every night. It starts charging at 7pm and finishes when it hits 80%. As others have said, ABC and Ford suggested it. Plus, the cold winters up here it's better to walk into a warm cabin each morning with an 80% charge. That range quickly dissipates in the cold so I...
