  1. Range not what is advertised

True, but I have found the destination SoC on Google is much better than what is calculated in Sync Nav.
  2. Range not what is advertised

This is a fantastic concept that many new EV drivers don't grasp. Thank you for stating it so succinctly! I would only add to this that we bring even more vagueness and uncertainty when we try to express the quantity of stored energy in terms of MILES. A gallon is a gallon regardless of the...
  3. Curious why some do not use 1 pedal driving.

The brake pedal still works in 1PD. I don't think an actual panic stop feels or executes any differently between 1PD and 2PD.
  4. It’s a snow machine

Plows without a hitch leave the same kind of piles as plows WITH a hitch...
  5. “Dynamic Range” Display?

The simplest solution seems to be a dynamic SoC estimate at your destination, which some folks are already seeing in Google Maps after a recent update. Then adjust your driving to keep that number where you want it.
  6. Frunk Space Heater?

THIS. If all you need is to keep the lettuce from freezing, an insulated cooler should do the trick. K.I.S.S.
  7. Over optimistic range every time I charge

Showing the mileage estimate as an exact number is always going to be a tricky proposition because each mile's efficiency can be vastly different from the next. In the Chevy Bolt the remaining miles shows as a range with an upper estimate and a lower estimate (like 110-140). This makes much more...
  8. How pessimistic is the Mi/kWh display on the dash?

In my experience, the mi/kWh is pretty bang-on accurate. What conerns me is that the GoM is ALWAYS optimistic. I do understand the inherent flaws in the GoM and I definitely don't live my life by it. I just expected that the inaccuracy should spread somewhat evenly between the high side and the...
  9. How pessimistic is the Mi/kWh display on the dash?

I like your "Bob" and "John" analogy. As an IT professional, my guess is that both screens are using the same data point, but for the display value the center screen Bob is rounding (1.87 becomes 1.9) while in the driver display John is truncating (1.87 becomes 1.8). Still very annoying to...
  10. What is the meaning of the extra mileage counter in the GOM?

On a related note, it seems (perhaps due to a recent Android Auto update) that "distance to destination" number shows up when using Google Maps. Used to be only for Sync Nav. Unclear as of yet if it updates range based on your route like it does with Sync, but I doubt it. Curiously, when I use...
  11. Breaking Wind

Agreed, and the dog's embarrassed look in your profile pic makes me think we found the guilty party...
  12. Why do my instrument cluster settings reset sometimes?

Happens to me too. It's on my long list of Ford software bugs. Makes sense when it happens after an update (although with some minimally savvy programming they could save user settings and reapply them after the update completes). But OP is saying the settings reset even when there has been no...
  13. Can't buy a vehicle if it is going to strand me

Speaking as someone who had the HVB issue, I will say in my case the issue did not strand me. Available power output was reduced to 57% and charging would not go past 65% SoC but neither of those factors kept me from getting where I needed to go until I could get it fixed under warranty. IMO the...
  14. How upside down is everyone and how do you feel about it?

I'm with you - but what if you're in an accident and totaled?
  15. Efficiency Help

I'm not trying to start an argument - I'm genuinely curious if my understanding is incorrect... I know extreme over/under-inflation can cause uneven wear, but apart from the extremes it was always my understanding that lower pressure gives a softer ride, and higher pressure gives more efficiency...
  16. Sport Mode

Also has more aggressive regen-braking which can contribue to better efficiency.
  17. 2 Questions

Follow-up question on this... After sending a charger location from ChargeAssist app to FordNav as a destination will FordNav recognize it as a charging destination and precondition the battery?
  18. What (to you) is an EV-Ready Corridor?

Agreed. If I'm reading it correctly then they are using the word "charger" in both senses of the word within the same paragraph. But I think my interpretation is correct because it wouldn't make sense to have one location per 50 miles nor would it make sense to have only one plug per location.
  19. What (to you) is an EV-Ready Corridor?

I read it as 4 stations per 50 miles and 4 chargers per station, for a total of 16 "plugs" per 50 miles - which feels much more reasonable.
  20. Take the "guess" out of the "guess-o-meter"

Funny - this is exactly what Rivian has on the left side of the dash.
