Two notes:
A) the first thing I did when I received my LIGHTNING PRO SR back in August of '22, was to print out the 'HVB Fire department DISABLEMENT instructions' and provide them to my Firefighter SON and his local fire authorities...
although, this would not have helped in this 'total fire...
While I think I somewhat follow your 'path', I do find it hard to understand how having One-Pedal deployed that the truck would then move, on it's own, AFTER having come to a complete stop. One-Pedal has 'Auto-Hold' built in, meaning that the vehicle is brought to a complete stop by the...
while it's nice to ask, none of us can assure you, even with our own measurements... your entry angle into your garage, and your tires, etc., will all have an impact... drive the 70 miles and measure it. You'll feel better.
I've noticed this on all my Campers with LED tail lights or running lights, etc... there is simply a small amount of constant/variable 12v power that is causing this phenomenon... and you'll likely not see this if the coupler is not on the truck's ball, but still 'plugged in' to the truck's...
I will hop into this conversation, with having charged no less than 6 different EVs we've owned, over 7+ years, and having grown through this 'time' in Charging and Charging Infrastructure HISTORY, with probably over 150,000 combined miles, and much of that from DC Fast Charging:
Back in...
I didn't find that the weight was any issue to reduced range, it's more about the HEADWIND at the front of the Camper.... once you have the weight moving, it's momentum more than power...
I recently towed two different dual-axle Campers over 200 miles, with little to any noticeable difference between the shorter 21' @ 4,600lb and the larger 35' @ 7,500lbs, with my PRO SR w Max Tow package, using NO additional equipment. I probably average 1.2-1.4 with several large...
this whole 'situation' reminds me of our travels in our diesel pusher Motorhome thru the Canadian Territories from Manitoba, thru BC, and into/around/out of ALASKA... taking a very interesting FERRY RIDE, with our Motorhome, across the waters, back in 2017 : Haines-Skagway Fast Ferry (HSFF)...
a locksmith 'might' can assist, but since the 12v system is not functioning, the door 'button' to unlock the doors won't work, so the 'manual' door latch would have to be engaged, which might be difficult for where it's located....
one questions might be: how to get the FRUNK /HOOD...
I always find it amusing that some will constantly argue why we "don't have a battery reserve", or why we "don't have an extended range gas generator under the hood", or why we "can't just press a button when we are 'low' to suddenly find that 'extra' 100 miles we need"...
it's baffling...
If...
my wife asked just yesterday, during all of the 'winter storm' concerns, about 'how long' our LIGHTNING would power the house.
There is no answer.
really.
as most of us on these forums can agree, we ALL use electricity, and the amount of electricity, DIFFERENTLY - Everyone, that's...
and, it's still under warranty, so there's no reason to purchase any 'extended service plan' or anything else... you've likely just encountered the 'bad module' situations some of the rest of us have, and FORD will replace it and get it taken care of, and you'll be back to driving successfully...
here's the MAGIC that can make this retrofit an absolutely DREAM for hundreds of miles, on ANY roadway or interstate...
no more ALERTS, no more 'torquing' the wheel.... just ride!
agreed
FORD 'owes' us nothing: We got what we paid for, and we LOVE it!
Manufacturers make changes EVERY DAY, they don't owe us anything just because....
I view our LIGHTNINGS as CLASSIC TRUCKS which will be an EXPENSIVE bid over the Barrett-Jackson Auction block before long...
COUNT your...
While the initial question here is about 'backfeeding' the truck with external generator power, to ultimately 'recharge' the battery pack, it presents several points:
- 🏠while backfeeding your home's Main Panel with output from a generator, or the LIGHTNING, is possible, that is a different...
