  2. Deconstructing the Lightning: Using AI to Map PIDs for Torque

    It still takes a charge but at a slower pace, which more noticeable when DCFC charging. Read about my experiences charging in frigid conditions 2/7 to 2/8 at Ionna
  3. My Lightning burned to the ground

    One of my buddies had one in the saddle bag of his Harley, it wasn't that old, he used it to help someone in a car jump their battery, it had the capacity to start the vehicle, but about 5 minutes later began to smoke and bulge, ended up leaving it on the guardrail to let it burn itself out...

  8. Deconstructing the Lightning: Using AI to Map PIDs for Torque

    Last night in 5° I charged for ~52 minutes, it's very likely that I used 7 kWh to warm the cabin and the HVB temperature during the session. Notice the discrepancy for the Ford App session details screen while active and the post event record, 66.3 minus 59 net to the battery is 7.3 auxiliary &...
  9. How to precondition the battery for fast charging when your complementary advanced navigation has expired and in motion?

    During last night's cold road trip to & from NH, I discovered that you can affect the the HVB heating by modulating the E-Heat button and lowering the temperature setting on the Sync HVAC screen. While I was driving from Nashua NH to Reading Mass, enroute to the Ionna DCFC 400KW station, I...
  10. Deconstructing the Lightning: Using AI to Map PIDs for Torque

    Off Topic follow-up, I only charged at the end of the week for my daily short trips, much less lost energy to battery-conditioning which isn't important for such short hauls. Then saturday I had a long trip to make where full departure time conditioning was used Improved the overall MPK for...
  11. My Lightning burned to the ground

    Early in the roll out, a Lightning in California caught fire in the owners driveway IIRC. The one in Canada mentioned earlier, there have been a few but still rare by comparison, those were all HVB issues, not the suspicious LVB issue this thread is leaning toward.
  12. $0.20/kWh Charging this Weekend + IONNA Birthday Meetups 🎂

    5° charging New England winters. 66.889 kWh in 52 minutes, 6.25% sales included $14.22, good deal! 59 kWh net to HVB, 8 kWh for thermal management {cabin & HVB warming}

  17. My Lightning burned to the ground

    It would be interesting to see the telemetry from Ford's point of view. @b.go do you use a bluetooth ODB2 and car scanner with logging turned on?
  18. Ford Charging Station Woes and Whews!

    We've observed this condition for quite some time, I mentioned it a couple years ago around the time I made a road trip NJ during the Tesla Adapter order roll out. At this time, I'm preparing for a cold road trip to NH, bumped the battery to 90% to replenish my weekly travels around town. Then...
