I am highly concerned now about insurance rates and spare parts. Ford says they will support the Lightning for the following 10 years. What happens if my tail light goes out 5 years down the road? Is my insurance going to total it because parts simply do not exist? Am I holding a bag of bricks here?
This still leads to oil changes, maintenance, etc that those of us got away from with the Lightning. I guess my next EV will be a Rivian if I ever decide to get rid of my Lightning. So sad to hear our beloved fully electric F150 is done.
Apprentice and training programs are the way to go. I got my aircraft maintenance license in high school, payed $0 for it.
I could see your nephew making what he does working for BMW. Im sure he probably works extra hours or hustles labor to make it work. But 120K at Ford? Thats hard to believe.
Thats marketing lingo to get people in the door. I really dont think dealer techs are making $120K. Im sure Ford constantly underquotes labor hours. Ive had friends move on from dealer to heavy equipment. Much better hourly rate, union and no constant squeeze between the OEM, dealer management...
You know what I honestly would really like to see? Have Ford host a semi-annual (or atleast annual) seminar at Rouge. The first half day could be dedicated to engineers and product support specialists from both the MME and Lightning program. Include speakers from these programs, a fireside chat...
ABRP for a rough estimate, plugshare to check scores and amenities of a station and adjust from there. Once you pick your final stations, plan it on ABRP and off you go. The free version of ABRP wont cast on carplay but will display what your SOC should be along that specific point in your route...
Well, Farley did say next week was going to be a Model T moment where we will effectively compete against the Chinese. I can only imagine this means battery tech since they are a couple of years ahead of us.
What exactly does the tag get you other than being exempt from HOV lane rules? Ive considered getting it but unfamiliar with it and its quite expensive.
WOW! Im geeking out with this video. I had just been talking to my buddy that owns a shop with a dyno and we were messing around wondering how the Lightning would do on the dyno.
The 2024 MMEs were offered a performance upgrade that you paid for and shaved a half second of the 0-60 time. They were able to do this because the motors were changed to the Lightnings motors and I guess Ford was able to squeeze some more out of it. Some time ago EA members were surveyed about...
I think you’re treating an always depreciating asset like an investment so you felt the need to sell. At the end of the day, does it really depreciate if you never sold it in the first place? You dont like the negative equity but turn around and cut a check for $10K while getting rid of a...
