Thanks for this TaxMan....I just encountered this yesterday as well.
I was charging at a supercharger before bringing our new travel trailer home, and I had planned to charge to 100%. Yes I know it is slow after 80%, and slow AF after 85%, but I had the time and the charger had tons of empty...
This is mostly an America gas cost being heavily subsidized problem.
Here in Canada, the comparison of the same would be:
18mpg = 13.07 Litres per 100kms.
Avg fuel cost in the province I live right now (not summer peaks, current) is $1.75/Litre.
GAS truck = $22.87 per 100kms...
Interestingly, I do see Tesla chargers in the Ford app itself....I will see if I can find them in the new "Public Charging" icon on the main screen next time I drive
Got it, thanks!
Yea our Electrify Canada account is no longer a paid thing, so we are getting the base rate anyways now (was free for like 1500kwh or something with our ID4). So if there is no price difference, might just run thru Ford app.
Thanks for the response. Follow up for you....and sorry to ask the public this but my dealer did a piss poor job of helping me set things up.
Re the Blue Oval network.... In my Ford Pass app, I see it as a "Connected Service" with a button to "Activate Trial"...? Why is this a trial? Is it...
Hi all
First off, what a mission to find one of these trucks if you have a colour preference! We now have a '24 Flash trim, and love it so far. Pic attached!
A main reason we got this was for the supercharger access. However, my Ford dealer really :poop: the bed and was beyond unhelpful...
As noted, yes we tow already with our ID4. Our trailer is a tent trailer and with the ID4, it has a vertical bike rack off the back of it....aka a giant air brake. We can get about 180-200kms between chargers with that thing, while "clean" on the highway on a trip like this, we could get about...
They charged it to near full for me, I think it was at 99% when i got it.
Glad to hear posting this that no one else had seen it before. These EV forums are pretty handy sometimes when dealers don't have answers
Yes. It's the only flash they have on the lot here, they have one XLT, one Flash, one Lariat. Looks like a couple body panel gap issues at the front fender too that I noticed that are a rust issue waiting to happen....the two panels are touching each other, which is a recipe for paint wear...
Interesting your take on the Shell chargers...of course not doubting your experience, but in mine here in BC, I have actually found them to be quite reliable.
I've used their 180kw stations about 5 times with my 2023 ID4, and each time they have delivered the max charge curve my vehicle can...
Thanks Dean....we do have an EV crossover already and tow with it, so I agree it is awesome and that's why we're here now looking into this lightning.
Very, very seldom would we need to DCFC to 90 or 95, but I still wanted to see what it looked like as there's still some stretches here where...
Yes I expected it to behave like the graph from Tom Moloughney at State of Charge, so dropping rate is not the issue.....it is how wild the displayed charge was from 85-90 that has me concerned.
Seeing a rate drop from the 50's to the 20's from 85 to 90% was expected, but bouncing all over the...
Hello
Have a '24 Flash trim in my driveway at the moment on a 2 day test from a local dealer, and I took it to a Shell 180kw fast charger to see how it does. I am not a lightning owner at the moment obviously, so if I am missing anything please keep that in mind that I can't find concrete info...
