  1. Am I blind, or are there no lower front bed tie-downs?

Cannot build *sauna* without a lot of cedar (and this is just the floor and ceiling) ;) -Zap
  2. Am I blind, or are there no lower front bed tie-downs?

Interesting that this thread popped up again when I (thread starter, truck stuff do-er) had to pick up a load of Port Orford cedar an hour and a half away from home yesterday. Best solution I have found without adding or drilling anything is to go from front tie down to rear tie down and make an...
  3. Is my math correct? Is it really this cheap to operate?

I have 24+kw of solar... my effective rate all but months with snow on my panels is 0.00/mile :) Indeed, why buy an Ice again??? -Zap
  4. Question

I prefer plus the stickers look good on Atlas Blue ;) -Zap PS- "current" lulz
  5. Which 80 amp charger is best?

YMMV but I have Ford's Charge Station Pro running at 80A on a 100A breaker since 2023 and it only failed to charge *once* (and I'm reasonably confident I didn't have the plug all the way in). Some users report trouble with it, but mine has been fine. I *did* get it free with my purchase since...
  6. Can I run a 6kW "220-240v" sauna on the rear outlet? Link to item in question... but don't snake my auction, bro!

After mulling this idea and all of your responses over, I think I might just build a sauna from scratch, to fit my space better, and run dual 120v heaters (3kwx2) so I have options, flexibility, 'soft start' by staggering powerup, and backup in the event one goes down. I noted that the container...
  7. Can I run a 6kW "220-240v" sauna on the rear outlet? Link to item in question... but don't snake my auction, bro!

Thanks for the input folks. I should have mentioned, since it is also relevant, that we are on 'time of use' power, at about 10c/kW night and 40c/kW day, so shifting the usage to run from the truck would cut power demand and cost during daytime... which is part of the reason to attempt this :)...
  8. Can I run a 6kW "220-240v" sauna on the rear outlet? Link to item in question... but don't snake my auction, bro!

https://bid.barnoneauction.com/lot/282208650/sauna-room-7x9?ref=catalog Wife wants an outdoor sauna to make our unheated (natural) pool useable for a longer season. Between well pump, electric heat, 2 EV chargers, a kiln and everything else, I only really have panel capacity for a smaller...
  9. Incredibly good lease on 2025 XLT

I'm not in the market, but I see $437/mo zero down for SR and $429/mo $7529 down for ER for my zip code in the PNW " Pricing for December 30, 2025 and 97XXX"... might be market-specific to thin out inventory in regions flush with them... -Zap
  10. Important Update: Ford EV Roadmap & Future of F-150 Lightning (EREV Next Gen Model) - ⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS

Bummer, guess I am now a collector of obsolete tech. Glad I got those ten year warranties, parts are gonna get scarce if production ceases. Grab yours now folks, I bet the prices will rise accordingly... Big oof Zap
  11. If the Ramcharger were available when you bought your lightning...

Hell no, lol I had a deposit ($100) to hold a place in line for the RAM REV but when they cancelled it, I got my $100 back and bought a second Lightning (yes, for slightly more than my $100). IMO the Lightning is the only EV truck worth its price. Rivian is a toy truck for influencers...
  12. Best Off-Road Tires?

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss have been great for me for over a year on my Lariat; just bough 2 more sets, one for my own rig and one set for hers, they are worth it. Good wear, great traction, good looks, not an unknown Chinese name, and good in rain and snow which is the key factor for us here in...
  13. Slippery Mode Makes The Lightning Safer in Snow

I have 2 Lightnings... I live on acreage on a hill very much like this, and... I get snow... Ford, baby, this is *all I want for Christmas*... If you loved me, you'd be concerned for my safety... Zap
  14. PIT maneuver vs. 2023 Lightning PRO

Pro? 100% totalled. Sorry for your accident, but glad you are okay. Lots of smokin' deals out there on your next one. Zap

  16. WSJ: Ford Considers Scrapping Electric Version of F-150 Truck

TIL, thanks. I bought my 2022 in January 2023 and was not aware of that, since it had already changed. Have a great Sunday and congrats on the score, I bet very few Plats got that rebate! Cheers Zap
  17. WSJ: Ford Considers Scrapping Electric Version of F-150 Truck

I am confused: How were you able to take *any* federal rebate on a Platinum which certainly exceeded the $80k MSRP cap? -Zap
  18. "Gen 2 F-150 Lightning" development leaked in Ford employees' Linkedin profiles

Mirrors aside, the two trucks are a mere 7.3" different in width (79.9"/72.6") and IMO cameras could solve all the mirror problems making *all* the trucks narrower overall (Mav is 83.5" wide with mirrors out, wider than the F150 with no mirrors). I'm sure there's a happy medium that engineering...
