Literally, YMMV. The power available that low into the SoC is dependent upon a lot of factors -- including environmental factors. I avoid running that low, because charging performance down at the end of SoC is quite slow, as it is for nearly every EV.
No great shakes. You're not going to wear anything out doing this.
If you're going to make every traffic light a thing, you will go through tires quickly.
My truck has spent a lot of time cruising at 70MPH.
70, 75, 80 MPH posted speed limits are pretty common when you get away from the coasts...
I had the original A2Z adapter, which was recalled. I received the Typhoon Pro as a replacement -- it's probably the best built NACS adapter. The build quality of the A2Z adapters make the Tesla adapters feel quite janky. After Tesla had to recall a bunch of their own adapters, it's unsurprising...
Hey @Ford Motor Company, does this update have anything to do with my app no longer being able to provide a charging estimate for my 2023 Lariat ER? It was working fine a couple of days ago.
If you activate the charger through the Tesla app first, it will use your membership. Plug-n-charge will still work, ie. You don't have to disable it.
If you just plug in, you won't get the special member pricing. The same is true for EA and other networks.
The adapter produced by Tesla is so janky that I wouldn't pay actual cash money for it.
As a FREE adapter, sure, fine, but it's not well made and feels like Tesla squeezed every last penny of margin out of it. Heck, it doesn't even come with a protective case.
Norway is colder than most of the US and they don't have problems using EVs in the cold.
Keeping your truck plugged into a Level 2 charger goes a long way.
I did 3+ hours of highway driving this morning with temps in the low 20s, driving 65-70 and still saw a convincing 200 mile-ish range with...
If you're lucky, you might even get a Free Ford-branded Lectron adapter. The Tesla made adapters are janky. There was already a batch given to Ford owners that was recalled -- recall even impacted some Magic Dock locations.
If you need an adapter right now, I'd pick up the A2Z. They make a...
My Porsche Taycan had charge ports on both sides of the car, but only one side supported DC fast charging. Porsche had an interlock system that allowed only one charge door to be open at a time.
As someone who lives in the northeast and frequently drives up to Maine, I am so thankful that we don't have LFP batteries in any of our EVs. Severe range hit below freezing and punitive cold weather DC charging rates would be a showstopper for me.
The extended range battery can charge at a higher peak and sustained rate. It ends up being a wash when it comes to the charge time, but a charged up ER can go quite a bit farther.
