With a 7000# trailer you could have up to 1000# tongue weight, then add hitch weight and everything you put in the truck and you would be close or over payload. At 11000# you could have 1650# tongue weight. You need to hit the CAT scales to confirm weights. I have seen the tow package also list...
Its a quick easy job, pop the inside trim off, remove plug, remove the nuts off the studs, then reverse process. I would hate to see what the dealer would charge.
Had them on my 2018 and now on the 2021. I would not have a truck without, its so nice to be able to look quick and have a great side view and not miss anything. And when towing which we do often just pull the mirror out for a nice full view. To me the F150 looks like a wimpy truck with the...
Visit the CAT scales to confirm actual trailer and tongue weight. The weight on the sticker posted on the side of the trailer is usually less than actual weight. Better to be safe as you see how fast payload gets eaten up.
I haven't measured but my weight distribution hitch for the trailer gives the same level result from my 2018 setup to the 2021, so I would say they are the same or pretty close
I feel I am much better off backing the old fashioned way, use mirrors and look over shoulder. Looking at that screen doesnt show it all. I sold my yaw sensor on Ebay for $325 as I will never use it
Sounds like a salesman who doesnt know what he is talking about if he thinks you can add 300# to payload to cover people. Payload is everything that goes on or in the truck, so its tongue weight, hitch weight, and everything else you put in the bed or in the cab. Most people run out of payload...
Mine will apply the brakes when backing the trailer without a WDH on. I had winterized my TT over the weekend and was backing it back inside and the brakes slammed on, thought I hit something.
The sticker on my hitch has the same specs as yours, I have the Trailer Tow Package and my Payload is 1457#. We pull a boat that weighs in around 8500# with the trailer and use a WDH and tow with no problems.
I watched that YT video before purchase. I had a 2018 with the old system and never used it. Mine is a lease so I am not going to worry about the next owner, and since it came with carpet and moulded plastic mats I sold the plastic and will turn it in with the carpet. Made almost $500 on those...
Those turbos get a real workout towing. We towed our #4500 trailer on pretty flat highway and I displayed the boost gauge up on the dash. Normal driving not towing the gauge doesn't move much, when towing they are running from 50-100% most of the trip, something must get hot under the hood but I...
Go through trailer settings on the dash to pick the type of trailer you have then follow these steps from the manual, a large parking lot at a school or church works.
Hook up the trailer and make the electrical connections according to the trailer manufacturer's instructions.
Note: Select...
A few weeks ago someone started a thread about various payloads based on options. People were posting the window sticker so we all could see what options they have and the amount of payload they have. You may want to search for that, if I can find it I will post the link.
Everybody is usually close or over loaded on payload. I don't know how you could estimate the weight of everything the way you are thinking. I would visit dealer lots and check the yellow sticker on trucks that are equipped the way you want one. Have you taken your trailer to a Cat Scale to get...
Do you have any payload left, at 8200 pounds that's 800-1200 tongue weight and most of these trucks top out at 1500 pounds payload some as low as 1200, be careful.
I have a similar weight trailer and on my 2018 2.7 I hardly ever used the Tow/Haul mode as it decreased milage a bit hauling on flat ground. In normal mode i averaged about 15mpg so I just left it there. I haven't towed with the 2021 2.7 yet but imagine it will be the same, as you said if you...
