Thanks Snakebitten. So 1.7.1 needs to be fixed before anything else will work? That might be where the BlueCruise install jumped the tracks. Now I think maybe I should get 1.7.1 done and simply wait until the OTA process installs whatever I need for BlueCruise. Cheers

I just came home from the dealer. They couldn't get BlueCruise to install, kept getting error messages. But I also needed OTA 1.7.1 installed and they didn't try to do that. Can BlueCruise be installed manually if 1.7.1 is still broken?

Job 2 trucks were manufactured from July 6th onward with complete BlueCruise installed. BlueCruise wasn't magically created then, it was ready to go. If you had the last Job 1 truck made it wouldn't have it, but the first Job 2 truck would.

I feel your pain. I'm retrieving my truck from the shop Monday for the same reason. They just plain couldn't get it to work. It's obviously not the fault of the technicians all around the country, it's got to be a software problem and it's Fords fault. My truck, and all the rest of us Job 1...

How do you activate BlueCruise after it gets installed at the dealer? How do you turn it on and off?

Did they offer a loaner? It says in the product improvement program that dealers are authorized to provide a comparable rental vehicle for one day, but in cases like yours it should be until the job is done.

I'll post about my experience next week. I'm hopeful that I might be getting the truck I paid for 14 months ago.

I'm still stuck on 1.7.1 I just watched the informative YouTube video and it seems that after hours of effort he got his truck updated to that point but nothing more and he was planning on OTA updates to get him over the finish line. I'm very tired of waiting.

When a dealer does the BlueCruise software update does he have all the versions necessary? I'm going in Tuesday for the "Product Improvement Program" and I'd hate to come home without the total package because the dealer is 50 miles away. I called today and asked about the USB to Ethernet cable...

How would I know if my 1.7.1 update failed? I got the update last week and I don't see any difference. I think it allowed Apple Maps to show turn-by-turn directions in the information display and I also think it was supposed to fix the Sirius bug that only retained two pages of station presets...

That's something I was wondering about, how Ford was going to give the free year of BlueCruise. We get it up front for free and after that we can subscribe if we think it's useful. I thought Ford would get us to pay for the three year subscription and make it good for four years.

I finally got the 1.7.1 OTA the other day. What issue is there?

I forgot to mention that I turned off "Automatic Updates" and it was after that I got a couple. If you try that you will see the update available symbol in the upper right corner of your 12" screen if there's one available.

I ordered my Platinum exactly one year ago today. I received my first ever OTA update three days ago and another one today, bringing me up to 1.6.0. That's ancient history to a lot of people on here but I'm glad I'm finally in the club anyway. Keeping my fingers crossed, this might be a prelude...
