Got this update last night as well. I already had the WAL toggle setting enabled via FORscan from a few months ago. I tried enabling it this morning and it still automatically revert back to disabled.
If you are up to date on OTA software updates and your dealer performed CSP 24B56, then you already have the lane change assist feature hidden in the software of your truck. You next have to use FORScan to unhide the toggles in order to enable the new BlueCruise features. By default, they are...
As someone with a truck on BC1.0, I have no plans to extend my subscription, even for $500. The tech is cool but knowing there is an upgraded version, that I was told I'd be getting I might add, I can't in good faith continue to pay for something that is outdated.
On a positive note from this...
I just noticed that when navigating via Apple Maps, the miles to destination now shows up under the range remaining in the driver’s display, just like it does when using Ford’s Nav. Neat.
Keep in mind that with an XLT or Pro you'll get the 12" screen but there are a ton of features that are locked into the Lariat and Platinum trims. I like the 12" screen better but I like having BlueCruise, Ventilated seats, power folding mirrors, auto wipers, homelink, seat memory, and leather...
I’m assuming you are wanting a comparison between Ford’s and Tesla’s lane centering technology?
In short, Tesla’s AP is significantly more competent. Ford’s lane centering is decent when the lane markers are clear and curves in the road are not too sharp but AP is an order of magnitude better...
With BC enabled, I’ve turned my head away from the windshield a number of times and counted 5 seconds before the truck alerts me to pay attention. I can only speak for myself but I find 5 second to be fair considering I’m operating a moving vehicle at highway speeds.
In terms of disengagements...
This is my eye roll moment whenever someone complains about BC only giving you 5-6 seconds before it nags you. You are hurling a 6,500lb vehicle down the road at highway speeds. Your number one priority should be what is in front of you, not where is the closest Wendys to stop at to get some...
BlueCruise requires eye tracking hardware which is not present on the Pro, XLT, or Lariats without the CoPilot360 Active Prep package added.
CoPilot360 Assist 2.0 can be had on the XLT with the 312A package and includes Adaptive cruise control with stop and go and lane centering.
Finally got 4.1.2 after not driving the truck for 48 hours during the ice storm we had in Texas.
Huge kudos to @Ford Motor Company. Two things that stick out the most:
Having the camera button is a game changer. Pulled into a stall at sonic and it made parking seamless in the tight space. I no...
I truly don’t get it. Over the past few weeks I’ve tried every trick suggested but have received a failure each time. Now tonight it went through. I didn’t do much driving today, I didn’t charge the LVB, I didn’t turn off the auto headlights, and I locked my truck with PaaK. Whatever. I won’t...
There is a Ford marketing dude on the lightning subreddit who indicates that it will eventually come to all lightnings but that it probably wouldn’t be soon. Not sure what “soon” means though.
